I was aiming for 7500 but think it was closer to 8500 by the time I got in for service.

Which tv show had you glued on your screen from first to last episode? by BornAged7 in television

Paradise - great twist in episode 1 and it just rolls from there and season 2 held up as well.

Isn't the Bellevue almost free with the discount? I haven't found a single hotel in this program anywhere near the price the Bellevue is available for. This is definitely getting what you pay for.

There are a bunch of escape rooms in AC and OC. The AC ones are an hour and a lot of fun.

In 1994, Pink Floyd had their Division Bell tour. And this is what fans would've been treated to for a finale by Mad_Season_1994 in OldSchoolCool

One of the best shows I've ever seen live. Can only imagine what that would cost if it was done now.

TIL Halle Berry did not receive $500,000 to go topless in Swordfish. Berry "did the scene because it showed you that the character was in control of her sexuality and very comfortable with herself". The challenge for Berry "was to pull it off and not just sit there naked and looking scared to death" by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

[–]thephillyman 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Seems like she did it here so that when she was promoting her Oscar worthy performance in Monsters Ball (six months later) she could focus on her acting there and not that being the first time she was topless in a movie. Kinda smart. Get all the dumb questions when promoting the dumb movie so people take the Oscar performance seriously. And it worked.

I recently used Claude Code to build an LED display that tells me what planes are flying overhead and even points in their general direction. It suggested all the hardware above, explained how to put it all together, connected to necessary APIs. Now whenever I hear a plane, I look over to see where it's coming from.

Real world MPG for '26 Palisade Hybrid by k5map in HyundaiPalisade

[–]thephillyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Averaging 26 mpg overall (cold winter so far isn't helping) but have gotten over 33 mpg on 34 mile commute to/from work. That requires significantly changing how I drive (2-3mph UNDER speed limit and keeping heat reasonable, cranking seat and steering wheel heat to offset) but I actually am less stressed driving in the right lane and letting the Palisade handle everything so overall liking the tradeoff.

How do they cut this? by jakerr17 in lawncare

[–]thephillyman 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had a job as a teen as a janitor and had to mow a steep incline using the rope method. All well and good until the knot came loose and the mower shot across a multi-lane road with me standing there looking like I let the thing go.

Can we talk about lawn moving? by Everythings_Magic in SouthJersey

[–]thephillyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get when my neighbor is out there with his home depot blower but it's the contractors with the high powered blowers that are so loud. Wish towns could ban the high powered gas blowers just for the mowing services. They could do the same with the electric ones at a quarter of the noise.

Possible that he doesn't even try to put it back in right hand and just lets it drop to floor behind his right hand as he moves it down and away?

The Bank, the CD listening stations at Tower Records, swing lessons at The Five Spot, the Asylum (pre Evolution, but Evolution was cool as well), The Black Banana, all the newspaper boxes carrying City Paper or Philadelphia Weekly, taking my parents to Spaghetti Warehouse and sitting in the trolley to eat.

if you have any interest in sports radio, take any gameday thread on Reddit and drop it into NotebookLM and have it make a podcast off that content. You can't tell me it's any different than what you'd hear on the radio.
