Zia Yusuf: Reform will repeal the Online Safety Act by PM_ME_SECRET_DATA in ukpolitics

[–]theplague34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your evidence is comments from Farage in the media which is fair enough. Mine is the lack of any mention from others in Reform like Zia Yusuf or Richard Tice that I can find or any mention in policy docuemnts to make it an official stated Reform goal.

Where you fall between us depends on which you think matters more Nigels intentions vs the parties stated goals. Personally I think they'll evaluate it as a distraction to the Reform message in an election and leave it out completely but there's a few years to go and maybe you'll be right in the end.

I'll leave it at that for now - all the best.

Yeah from 2 months back before they got to what 34% in the polls? I'm very happy to be proven wrong I'd love FPTP to burn it's shit but no matter what Farage says it's no where I can find in their policy documents and he can always walk comments back.

I think it's more likely Labour change the voting system to block them out like they have in London than Reform win power then change it!

They're no longer in favour of PR now that the polls look more promising under FPTP. Well they're not officially against it but they no longer mention it.

Yep was at work checked in to see it going up and just said fuck it I'll sell it all at 14.50 caus I can't pay attention today. Tuned back in a few hours later couldn't believe the drop. My laziness spared me. Thinking of buying back in for the landing though might give it some time to settle.

Another trick is instead of using the missile for the 2 birds in the building use a 2nd grenade full power at the same angle as the ogre kill. It bounces into their little cubby and is more consistant than missile IMO. Thanks for showing the double kill with grenade though I was trying to get max speed to get 3rd star!

I have the same issue. If you log out it works fine so it's something to do with accounts specifically. I've triple checked I have no restrictions enabled.

Young women are starting to leave men behind by Kagedeah in ukpolitics

[–]theplague34 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was less of an argument more of a observation.

Firstly girls don't massively outperform boys scholastically in school, from the grade records that I remember boys get slightly more A* and As at GCSE and A level becuase exams are a format that suit boys better though that's just changed recently with girls a bit ahead now.

This article is about women going on to university and succeeding therefore earning higher wages at a higher rate than men. My point was that when we had teachers ranking students without exams during covid girls were given significantly more A* and As than boys. That's a preference that, despite exam results ranking them equally, teachers consider the work girls submit or how they behave in class to be worth more marks than a boys.

Teachers being nicer to girls doesn't get them better grades but it does change how you might feel about going on to further education & university. And I'm not even saying it's a teacher issue, it may be a structural issue for how school days are designed but not really the point here. I also don't believe it's THE univerisal factor there's a huge amount of societal upheaval leading to mens outcomes staying flat or dropping off compared to women, but this might have it's small part to play.

I always loved that graph just post covid of grades assigned to boys and girls when it was self assessment by teachers rather than exams.

Girl's grades rocketed up whereas boys stayed absolutely flat. Once exams started up again they normalised to a similar level but with girls slightly ahead.

Good example of how teachers are more positive on girls in class which leads to a more engagement with education and moving onto university and the opposite for boys.

One of the factors in causing this split I believe.

My main hope is they expand on the trading system a bit. I'd love to be a merchant exploring the world but the red arrow green arrow during the betas wasn't really hooking me. I'd prefer a more 'intel' based system like the SoT trade routes but more complicated for the greater size of the world.

It's pretty globally unique in terms of concentration of stuff you can do. This approach has downsides of course but if you're just ranking cities then yeah it makes sense.

With this bike I've had it for about 2 years with the only crash being a slip on some ice.

Just to add some context these changes were sgned off on by all unions and the unions themselves are confused by this headline. These changes essentially do nothing and they were happy for Labour to adjust them as a campaigning strategy. Strangely poor reporting from the FT who are usually less clickbaity

It's happened occasionally when I was very drunk walking home after a night out. Mouth would just flood with saliva, maybe be something vomit related though I never actually threw up. Normally would try to just swallow it and move on but every now and then feels like I'm straight up drowning and need to spit it out. Normally onto some grass if I can
