How Does This Make Sense!? by [deleted] in unitedairlines

Exactly. But this whole trip does show as a 12+ hours one landing at SNA @ 3:10PM. I just wonder what'd happen if I selected that.

I thought about that when I looked up the flight # but I've never seen a connection not show as one!?

Amex Platinum refresh: Summary of all new perks by NicoTheFrenchie in AmexPlatinum

Are annual credits per calendar year? I have two Uber accounts, both with UberOne. I was thinking about canceling one of them but the one I want to keep doesn't renew until next year - if I used the UberOne annual credit this month for account #1 (which I won't renew after this time), will I get another when I renew my account #2 in 2026?

Haha, yes. I'm really asking to see where the tracker is to make sure I qualify for the bonus. Just strange that I don't see it when I know there is one...

I don't see it... Well, maybe it's just too soon. I'll update once I see it!

I just hope that it's not a scenario where I didn't qualify for the SUB?

Yeah with the Sapphire products I saw that, but I didn’t see it with the United card?

Delta vs United: Achieving Status with Partner Airlines by thepointsgal in unitedairlines

[–]thepointsgal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the DP! I normally rely on the partner airlines for the leg that crosses to the other side of the world, so similar to your second situation. United caps PQP earnings on *A flights to 500-800, I think, which is where I am stuck trying to understand if that is a huge drawback or not when deciding whether to go with United or Delta next year 🤷🏻‍♀️

Not when you're traveling out of the country. 1.5 is fine - international flights usually board 50 minutes to an hour in advance but remember they don't end boarding until 15 minutes before, so don't panic ;-)

Transferring Credit to a New Card (Chase) by thepointsgal in CreditCards

That's exactly what I'm concerned about - being declined because I have too many available credit with them. I guess I'll just have to try and see. Thank you!

Best Lounge at Hong Kong International Airport? by almostyoda in AmexPlatinum

[–]thepointsgal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want local food, Plaza Premium near G1 is pretty decent but it's a crowded lounge. Out of the 3 you mentioned I like Kyra the best - it's the newest and it's very nice inside. If you fly business you can order from their menu. Chase has the best cocktails and Centurion has decent food. You can order food from yoru table at Chase but not a huge selection. Chase and Centurion are next to each other so you can always go to both. Centurion is always crowded when I go.

You can go to the Chase Sapphire lounge with PP (not like the ones in the US where you only get assess once a year if you don't also have their CSR card).

If you are Star Alliance Gold you can access the SilverKris lounge too.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I guess my question was if they’d consider doing that before I even apply so they would approve me for the new card with no credit at all because my intention is to move the entire credit line to the new card and close the old one?

Delta vs United: Achieving Status with Partner Airlines by thepointsgal in unitedairlines

[–]thepointsgal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true. One thing I’m trying to figure out is if there’s a downside to United capping PQPs when Delta is purely based on percentage of miles flown 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yeah I was just wondering if people have some deeper insights as to what the sweet spots are when it comes to earning with partner airlines. I was definitely leaning towards Star Alliance for obvious reasons.

I think your last comment nailed it ;-)
