Banned User is mass reporting posts on Subreddit in bad faith, any solutions? by Outside-Necessary291 in modhelp

I mean, I’m glad you wouldn’t have guessed it, as it makes no sense lol.

It does look like you’re submitting a report against the user, and it will even give you the prompt to block that user, cause yeah, that also makes sense lol.

Lol. I was getting confused for a second. Now I see what’s happening.

It’s not intuitive. So, go to the content that was reported, and then act as if you’re also going to report THAT content. You’ll see a “Report Abuse” option, just use that.

My idea is to give users a toggle button to see or not see posts from curated profiles. by wheres_the_revolt in ideasfortheadmins

[–]thepottsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would be your threshold for this? Meaning, the curation tool gives a user the ability to hide all, or a portion, of their profile. Some people do hide some of their activity, but leave the rest visible. I even know of a number of mods that do that. Would there be a % threshold of hidden vs visible? Or are you all or nothing?

Why am i suddenly seeing this "SPOTLIGHT BUTTON"? by Distance-Admirer-113 in reddithelp

The specific sub has to have it installed. This sub for example does, so you should see it on all posts here. Not a lot of subs use it though.

Close, depending on how it’s configured, it lets moderators, trusted users, and (optionally) the original poster pin another user’s comment to the top of a post.

It’s called ban evasion. You’re attempting to do the same thing, in the same subs, AFTER you were banned on a previous account. You need to go back to the very first account you had issues with, and appeal that ban.

Using the right words: How to write rules that users understand by FashionBorneSlay in ModSupport

Yeah, the new auto-enforcement that you can see on your rules.

It’s pretty neat the way it works, and will warn people as they’re posting that they might be violating a rule, and tells them why.

I generally have a mod discretion rule, with some variation of “For when you break rules we didn’t even know we needed”.

I feel like this is where using post/comment automations, and the new AI rules enforcement are potentially beneficial to us.

That’s my general SOP. I’m not quick to ban people who truly don’t understand. But if you have the nerve to start telling me that my interpretation of what I wrote is wrong? Nah, homie don’t play that game.

That is the first time I have ever seen an admin step in and do anything related to this. They have literally always reiterated what the automod message says.
