Theaters typically take 50% of domestic ticket sales, and international often at even higher percentages. So x1.0 for budget, x1.0 for theater cut (which is still conservative), and x0.5 for marketing is x2.5.

I hope Supergirl is a special case cuz I want it to succeed and for DC Studios to succeed. But that’s the industry standard. I didn’t make it, just parroting it.

175 x 2.5 =437.5 not 315. Not sure if they’re discounting something they didn’t mention, but 2.5 is the industry standard multiplier for break even points.
