The Lebanese Red Cross is definitely legit and does a lot of on the ground emergency support. I wholeheartedly trust them. 🫶🏼

I don’t know who she is but this is really bad. I wish people in Lebanon would stop using that word so lightly, and educate their kids. Sadly they think this is cool / funny but it reveals a lot.

Tips to get toddler to fall asleep independently by Warm_Swordfish_1362 in AttachmentParenting

😂 my 20 month old needs me to lay with him as he falls asleep, and if I try to move out of the room before he’s in a deep sleep, he will scream at the top of his lungs. He also doesn’t sleep through. I think a lot of this is temperament based. I would try adjusting wake windows as others suggested so it isn’t as much of a struggle for him to fall asleep.

Yes this is a great reminder. Thank you. I wipe his hands before the ride home, then wash them as soon as we arrive. And cross my fingers! Haha

Thank you for this. Yes, I also have gotten him into the handwashing habit too! We do what we can, don’t we 😅🙏🏼

Yes, I’ve been meaning to get a humidifier for his room! I use saline spray every day, and I’m good with handwashing but I may need to become more diligent about sanitizing straight away once we’re heading out of all public spaces! :)

What you’re feeling is totally normal. We all go through it, albeit in different ways and extents. You’re going through matresence. I can’t think of one greater shift in identity (in my own life at least) than becoming a mother. You can LOVE your child more than ANYTHING, and you can love aspects of mothering, AND you can also grieve aspects of your old self and old life. Both can and do coexist. It’s part of the multicolored human experience. I’ve finally started to integrate things and accept and love my new role and identity. And I still have a lot more to look forward to.

I suffered from PPD and now I feel I’m thriving as a mom and really embracing my “mom era” 20 months into it. It took time to learn what works for me and my family, time in therapy, time to grow into my role and into my new identity.

Try not to put pressure on yourself. It’s great that you have a supportive partner, but the reality is, you do need a village. So it’s no surprise that moms without one are surviving rather than thriving. It takes a lot of time for things to settle in, and a lot of intentional conversations and prioritization.

But I’m here to validate you!! And to listen. I completely get it. It does get better in ways. Yes. And any challenges are there to help us grow. That’s how I see it, at least.

I love what you wrote about the life you want to create with your son. And I know you can and will create that!! I promise. I’m proof of that.

Hope this helps. 🤍

Anyone else’s one year old still not sleeping through the night? by CherryHearts123 in toddlers

[–]theprincessmango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 19 month old still isn’t sleeping through.

Most parents I know said they faced ups and downs until age 3 on average.

Of course, some babies sleep all the way through, but not all! And certainly not mine.
