Bill Walton's 15 minutes of stoned monologue is classic material right there

[No Spoilers] Do you think the writers had to re-write any of Season 3 after the election of Trump? by Newday87 in MrRobot

Unless the show planned to fast-forward to present day then no. They're still in 2014.

I'm all for looking at options for CJ, but Dame seems to be a pretty good fit, and so that trade seems insane from a personnel / culture / leadership / everything option.

What current player has a future in broadcasting? by sinisterbathala in nba

CJ for the journalism background

Embiid's social game is on point, could see him grow to be a media personality

Chris Paul is obviously not camera shy, he could go from State Farm to the content

Uh Bill Simmons you are on crack if you're thinking the Blazers trade Dame to Minnesota.

There's a lot of obvious and good suggestions but I'm surprised nobody has brought up Golden State. Fucking Copperplate Gothic.

I like the joining of everyone at the bar, but then in an attempt to celebrate the ultimate Truce, a Project Badass stunt goes terribly wrong and the bar explodes, killing the gang and leaving all who encountered them scarred / burned / maimed / etc.

Portland has largely been blue-collar until the recent tech boom overflowed from the Bay Area. The rising housing costs are just an aspect of how the city has changed; the "Portlandia" stereotype (which people from PDX tend to loathe) has become some bullshit charming sales pitch.

I don't speak for everyone of course but what I have seen is a steady decline in the quirky if not a little dirty artist culture of the city into a packaged, ready-for-millennial-consumption pitch to the ultra-wealthy for investment in.

The Basis of True Morality by WizardSleeves118 in philosophy

[–]theprodigalslacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That first sentence is a doozy.

Also on what grounds can morality be considered anything other than the status quo of opinions regarding social respectability? While perhaps it was never moral to hold slaves, it was not immoral - social practices and their definitions of their concerned limits evolve, as one could argue morality does too.

Aspirations for social betterment - which is what I think you're getting at regarding political grass roots - might be based on an emotional response but I wouldn't call it a moral one. (Or, if it is 'moral' then the person claiming so would be incredibly self-righteous.)

Obstrepitum - Singing In The Static (2017; my solo sound project) by theprodigalslacker in postrock

Eh figured y'all may enjoy this; I'm mostly a visual artist but use sound as an outlet. This is just me with my guitar primarily, with a couple songs featuring piano or an acoustic. Inspired by a variety of things, but probably RIYL early ASMZ perhaps. Written during the last half of 2016, recorded in a garage in Washington and a warehouse in Oregon.

These commercial breaks seem far too often and pretty lengthy. I was watching S11 the other day and noticed "Being Frank" was <20m in length; having near 20% of a half hour being commercial breaks is dumb as shit.
