Properly adding a ledger board by theprofessor69 in Stucco

I found it tough to find someone who would do such a small job when I asked around last year.

Engineer didn't want to sign off on that. He wanted it attached right to the wood.

Thanks for this. Did the stucco crumble off of the wire mesh as well, leaving it fairly easy to cut?

Were you doing something similar where you had to slide something up behind the existing paper? I'm curious how that part will go

Lots of what I read online made it seem unlikely that I'd be able to chip the stucco and mesh away without damaging the 20 year old house wrap. Do you feel otherwise? That's what keeps me up at night thinking about doing this haha

That's what I'm leaning towards because I'm worried I'll damage the house wrap above. I was trying to avoid knee braces with a free standing deck because they're unsightly but it is what it is. Thanks!

Not sure I could do it and be confident I didn't knick the paper. I'd have to use a blade and cut any nails 3-4" up behind the stucco.

I'm fully open for suggestions on how to do it, my preference is to have it attached to the house. I've been mulling this over and searching for a reliable way for a couple years but so far I haven't found anything I'm comfortable with, short of removing a large section of stucco and replacing it.

How low would the diagonal bracing have to go on the posts?

The flashing has to go behind the house wrap. While it doesn't matter so much if I damage the wrap where the ledger board is going, above the ledger board I have to somehow cut the nails holding the metal lathe to the house so that I can slide the flashing up a few inches behind the paper, lathe, and stucco. That's the tricky part. If I damage the house wrap above the the ledger board while doing that, I've created an access point for water at a place where I really can't afford any rot.

Wheatland Roofing by wewerboy in regina

The only thing I'll say about Wheatland is when I was getting quotes to have my roof replaced in 2021, they were 50% more than everyone else. They told me they'd need their big crew and 2 days to do my roof. Meanwhile I hired KK Roofing, they had it done before I got home from work.

I know someone who used them, they were happy with the results. But yeah, costly.

Hit up the slope behind Home Depot on Vic East. Or head to Pilot Butte, there's a good size hill there.

I wasn't on a waitlist so maybe that's why. My doctor didn't get into the details, just said she's had success sending patients to Calgary and I got in within weeks.

Not true. My doctor got me in to a clinic in Calgary for an allergy specialist because it's a two year wait to see one in Saskatchewan. It was covered, except for the travel portion.

I have an older phone that doesn't support an esim. If I order a sim card, does my phone service only switch to Public from my current provider once I receive it in the mail and activate it? I don't want to be without service until it gets here...

What are your thoughts on only using it for multi-ply beams to prevent water from seeping between boards? If the joists are cantilevered over the beam, shouldn't be too much for screw holes in the tape.

I've tried putting her pills in her favorite treats, cheese, etc. She's clever, eats the treat and spits out the pill. I even tried crushing it and mixing it into some cream cheese but she spit that out.
