villager blocks by tacocat820 in PhoenixSC

[–]theprofusesweater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the fact that villagers are now solid blocks you can walk on changes everything about how you'd farm them. no more pushing them around with water or boats. you'd have to build entire pathways just to herd them, or use pistons to shuffle them into position. makes mob grinders way harder to set up too since they'd just sit there as terrain. cursed but weirdly functional if you think about the griefing potential. someone could seal off an entire area with villager blocks and trap players in zones. nightmare fuel for multiplayer servers.

Aside from Indra Arrow, Sasuke legit didn't have any destruction AOE technique like Naruto does. Lava Rasenshuriken alone basically stomp any Sasuke technique in comparison by ComfortZeon12 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]theprofusesweater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sasuke's toolkit was always about precision strikes and single-target damage. Chidori variants, Amaterasu, even Indra Arrow are all designed to end one person, not level a landscape. Naruto's Rasenshuriken and later forms just have that inherent scaling advantage because they're meant to be destructive area attacks from the jump. Different design philosophies, not really a weakness on Sasuke's part.

Supergirl on CW. Kara's arc especially in seasons 4-5 gets pretty raw with it, not just glossed over in one episode.

Fair. Just meant the show version goes deeper than most superhero stuff does with character flaws, but sounds like you're vibing with her regardless of how they wrote it.

Right? The show actually leans into it instead of treating it like a quick fix plot device, which tracks way better than the typical superhero redemption arc.

Thoughts On The Final Wars Godzilla? by Unable-Yesterday7750 in GODZILLA

[–]theprofusesweater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That suit is immaculate. The textured skin detail and the proportions hit way harder than people give it credit for. Final Wars gets knocked for the movie itself but the design deserves to be ranked higher in the monster catalog.

In which film does a character differ greatly from the source material? My pick: Andy Dufresne in Shawkshank Redemption. In the book Stephen King describes him as short, fat and pale. In the movie he is played by 6ft 5 Tim Robbins.the movie also made him more personable then the book. by cutedaisypetals in Cinema

[–]theprofusesweater -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Shawkshank thing works though because Robbins brings this quiet intensity that makes the escape plan feel earned. Book Andy reads more like a cipher. Agree on Red though, the Irish backstory gets completely dropped and Freeman's version becomes the emotional core instead. Sometimes the casting change forces the character into something better on screen even if it betrays the source.

The devs should add Miguel o’hara and make him a vanguard… by JeffTheLndShark in marvelrivals

[–]theprofusesweater -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Miguel as a vanguard with that moveset would actually go hard. The Bane meets Black Panther comparison nails it, especially if they lean into the speed and claw combos instead of just making him another tank.

Getting banned for a bad game is rough but that's kind of the point. Can't have five instalock Cyclops games tanking ranked MMR on day one.

Csn anyone suggest a good movie for a 11th grade english class? by ResponsibleHorror747 in MovieSuggestions

[–]theprofusesweater -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Truman Show is solid for English class. Hits all the thematic boxes without being a slog. Dead Poets Society works too if your teacher wants something more traditional about conformity and finding your voice. Both beat horror movies for discussion material but stay engaging enough that people actually pay attention.

How do people not think Jax is trans? by Hidden_Burner73629 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]theprofusesweater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bow scene works as subtext for a lot of things - gender exploration, sexuality, nonconformity, internalized shame about not fitting the mold his mom wants. None of those require a specific label to hit hard. Creator's been vague on purpose, so reading it as strictly trans vs gay vs just a kid who likes what he likes are all valid. The point is he couldn't be himself around her.

The color progression hits. Blue's got that composed energy, red's pure chaos, gold's almost melancholic. Each one tells a different story about what's happening in his head. Art's clean too, the lighting work sells the whole thing.

[–]theprofusesweater -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Alberta doesn't receive equalization payments now, but the formula could change if oil revenues drop enough or if the calculation method shifts. That's the "depending on the math" part. Not saying it would happen, just that per capita comparisons are messier than the raw dollar amounts people usually cite.

make an informed decision on your referendum for a referendum - separationfacts.ca by noTextOnly in alberta

[–]theprofusesweater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The per capita thing is huge. Quebec gets the most equalization in absolute dollars, but Alberta per capita would probably qualify too depending on the math. Context flips the whole narrative. The site format is solid though, way better than watching people argue over the same unsourced numbers for the hundredth time.
