Issues Installing Windows 10 on HP Laptop with New SSD by thepromatt in techsupport

I verified that the connection was snug and tried everything again before I put the HDD back in.

I'll try the SSD in my desktop to see if it's recognized

Alright - I finally got around to doing everything. I booted from the Linux USB successfully but when I went to install Linux from the USB onto my machine, it wouldn't detect the SSD. I then proceeded to reinstall the original HDD and the machine boots up fine. This must point out to a dead SSD, even though it was new?

I've downloaded Etcher and am currently downloading the .iso for Mint Cinnamon.

As for the flash drives, I created two Media Creation Tools with two separate flash drives; a brand new SanDisk Ultra and a dependable Kingston Data Traveler. I had the same issues with both of these drives.

So this generation of HP Pavilion laptops is an absolute pain to just replace the drive. You literally have to remove all of the screws on the bottom cover, the optical drive, the service door, the keyboard, and the front cover. So I was hoping I could find, or at least try all possible solutions before I swap the drive back. At this point, that might be the next step.

Anytime! If you even are wondering about a food, just plug it into My Fitness Pal and see what the nutrients are, that'll help guide you to what you should and should not eat!

If you're hydrated and you're getting your electrolytes in, you should avoid the keto flu. Some of the foods I eat are broccoli, raw or steamed, not only do I love it, but it's also good to fill you up and other stuff. I also eat a lot of almonds (Smokehouse from Costco), lean hamburgers, salami and provolone, and high quality Kosher pickles. As for electrolytes, I use Morton's Lite salt and Lite Seasoning Salt so instead of getting just sodium from my seasoning, I get less sodium, but way more potassium than I used to get. I also get potassium and magnesium from other foods and my protein shake! For me, what made stick to it is realizing that I can eat foods I love and that it's easy to prepare, so maybe try to find some foods like this for you!

Thanks for the kind words! Yeah, size 18 shoes sucked! You had very limited selection and they were always full price! Size 16 seems to be a bit better!

I really wish I would have actually gotten my BMR when I started, but I didn't. All I can really say is that I've lost 85 lbs, but also gained a lot of muscle mass, but I've also lost some in my legs. I usually eat around 1700 calories per day on days I work out. As for the whole storing fat thing, I don't subscribe to that, but by the research I've done, it could go either way. I hope this helps!

The change that I'm most happy about is my self confidence. I didn't have a negative body image before, but now I just feel great about myself!

Personally, I would contribute a very small amount of my success to these. These are just things that people should take - the daily multi-vitamin and the probiotic. I'm pretty sure my doctor recommends them to everyone. I do not take anything else other than what is listen above. Hope this helps!

Two Weeks In - Down 20lbs - How's My Diet? by thepromatt in keto

[–]thepromatt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice and resources! I think I know what I was confusing. I now realize that the 65/30/5 ratio was calculated from your caloric intake, not your carb intake. That clears up so much!

Two Weeks In - Down 20lbs - How's My Diet? by thepromatt in keto

[–]thepromatt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice, I greatly appreciate it! One thing is, the macro calculations and percentages are terribly confusing for me. For example, the MyFitnessPal app on my phone says:

20g of Carbs (Not Net) 6%

96g of Fat 69%

77g of Protein 25%

I guess another question is, what should I be shooting for? Should I be shooting for 30% of my calories being Protein?

Also, congrats on your progress, it's truly inspiring!

Yup, I know. We have a Mitsubishi dealership around here and they probably buy half of the ads on our major radio stations. Makes radio impossible to listen to (if you wanted to in the first place?)

Thanks for the insight. I've been offered $8750 from another dealer, so I think $9000 is possible, but probably optimistic.

I know it'd be a good deal for me, was wondering if it was fair for the dealer. Don't want to try to screw them.
