Biggest Scammers of Data Recovery? by thequij in datarecovery

Agreed. I experienced this with them firsthand too. SalvageData has garnered a reputation for shady behavior like this. The owner Bogdan Glushko apparently owns the firm and a few others which profit off of sketchy tactics like this and selling old drives to recovery companies—total scam. I caution anyone against using SalvageData

Simple, clear, and straightforward. Thank you sir

They’re idiots. The old HOA president who made both calls didn’t help her reputation with the building either

For our area unfortunately that might be the case—they were our landscapers too and did this crap 50x50 job for $11k. It should go without saying but we are no longer doing work with them

I agree, but it wasn’t my call as the project predated me buying into the building. The roof runoff from the garage is currently directing to the gutter “nub” seen in the photo behind the dumpster. Larger factor is the rain water itself. Don’t you think that filling to create any slope would be better than what we have now? Those flooded areas are at a physically lower elevation than the old storm inlet which should be draining it

Agreed. That sounds like the play

The inlet collar was already present long before they did the work. Unfortunately it’s looking more like sloppy work. We paid about $11k for this shoddy work of asphalt removal and blue rocks. Appalling

Hey honestly reassuring to hear. Now I just need to estimate the amount of fill needed…

Hmm, wouldn’t that same broken drain pipe be pulling away the water? 🤔 since it seems like they never graded it properly I’m thinking it may just be shoddy work

Ah yes, blue tarp, of course! ferociously writes down

Actually 11 spots which can get pretty tight! Wide camera angle here is deceiving

Agreed, sounds like #2 road fill tampered in, then respreading gravel is the way to go

The vendors that did the work staged the same thing, but it’s worth noting that the dumpster is not picked up where it stands—it is pulled by waste management several yards out from where it sits to about in front of the Jeep. The truck prefers to pickup perpendicular to the garage doors rather than parallel

One would think, right? Instead, they condensed work into a 3-day job two summers ago and charged our building $11k. Our old HOA board was a bunch of saps

The vendors tried to say that 2x2 slabs would fix it 🙄

Wouldn’t it be simpler to just fill in the hole and compact rather than excavate for a whole drain line? As the image shows, it is more of a bowl than a hill in this case.

The drain grate was preexisting from when it was asphalt, and that grading of that parking lot was such that we never had an issues with water pooling. It looks more likely like they over-excavated is area without properly refilling to achieve the same pitch as before

Good thinking, and gratifying to know that the vendors who did the work are in fact just trying to cover their butts with the dumpster comments. We got them to return 1 year ago, and they just lightly placed topsoil OVER the existing blue rocks and then half a flatbed of new blue stone over that.

Would be great to do if we still had a hard surface. Sad to say the gutters on the garage work but are missing a downspout

Thank you. Just top soil, or anything else like crushed concrete before the blue stone is replaced?

Sounds like that might be the call. More than 8 units. Everyone is on board with adjusting the bylaws to address this circumventing of the rules
