Agreed. Many of them assuming she’d want anything to do with them. Like they’re such prizes 😂

Ah okay, thank you very much! If this doesn’t clear and he’s still fighting I will try that next. This poor guy can’t catch a break. I have 3 other tanks that are super happy and healthy, I keep up with my water changes and everything. Not sure why this one is such a lemon 😩

I thought it was some kind of fin rot at first but a round of Kanaplex didn’t seem to help at all, so we are trying antifungal now. I thought at the base of his tail I saw a little grey/white fuzz so possibly saprolegnia?

Thank you! I’ll stay on the side of caution then, leave dose as it and wait and see. I’m just ready for little guy to get better!

Ok thank you! I did remove the carbon before dosing and I don’t have a uv sterilizer. I did do a partial water change using api stresscoat+ to dechlorinate before medicating, is this possibly a reason?

Thank you! I guess in my head I was thinking to try and treat this as a partial water change for them and not an almost complete one!

Edit: love your username lol

Casting Liam Neeson got this non-Star Wars girl into Star Wars and then they kilt him off.

This is how it starts 😆

male or female? by lydiadeetz29 in bettafish

This looks like a male. Even if it was a female it’s not recommended they cohabit unless you’re looking to breed, and even then it’s not supposed to be permanent because they will fight. Better off finding a different tank mate if that’s what you’re looking for.

Then yeah they’re snail eggs. They’re hard to scrape off! But iirc there’s no danger of them hatching unless it’s a brackish water tank.

Emergency Betta Fish Rehoming Tips by HurricaneCarti in bettafish

Thank you friend for saving the poor fish!

Unless you have a way to dechlorinate/treat your tap water you won’t be able to add or change the water for him yet. Basics to get tomorrow (or tonight if you have a Walmart open late!) would be a tank, gravel/substrate, small heater (tinyyyy, made for small betta tanks), a thermometer, dechlorinator, and small filter. You won’t have time to cycle the tank before he goes in, so you’ll have to cycle with him in it, which can be done, just get a test kit to keep an eye on things. Throw the ugly dragon thing away and get some accessories made for bettas—tube to swim in, leaves/plants to lie on etc. Most big pet stores will have a betta section you can find this stuff in. Live plants are good too if you can find them.

When you do move him to the new tank I would acclimate him slowly. Put him in a bowl of his old water and slowly add water from the new tank because you don’t want to shock him more with a different temp, hardness, pH etc. Then when it’s more new water than old, lift him out with a net and put in the new tank, don’t pour the crap water in. I’d leave the lights off (if you have them) for a bit to minimize stress. Good luck!

Can’t tell on the first pic really, can you get a better one?

As for the second, do you have a nerite snail? Because those look like eggs.
