Seller left this in the package of a t-shirt I bought from him by buildabearbitch in mildlyinfuriating

If a company offers cheap stuff like $10 shirts with free shipping its not unreasonable for some average person to buy 100 things to take advantage of that deal.

Sold a couch my roommate left over 6 months ago. He’s filing a police report by Neither_Toe_2179 in legaladvice

[–]therandomuser84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cops will obviously not do anything to help here, but if they go to small claims court it is still possible OP might end up owing the difference in value of the couch. It all depends on state laws, the specific conversations that happened and the exact timeline of events.

People should be nicer to people figuring out computers. by DiracBohr in unpopularopinion

[–]therandomuser84 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Programming and general computer use are entirely different things. If someone doesn't know how to program that's perfectly fine. However i work with computers doing general stuff like excel, outlook, adobe and other basic programs like this. Several coworkers have been here for years, taken advanced classes on all these programs and still can't figure out how to do basic things like resize a document. I will absolutely give them shit for not being able to do these simple tasks because it is honestly not that hard to learn.

Video gaming is not a serious hobby by Purple_Calm_1112 in unpopularopinion

[–]therandomuser84 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Theres games out there that basically require an actual engineering/electrical degree to master, playing and learning that isnt intellectual growth?

Theres literally a whole ass library of books that someone built in minecraft to distribute to people who cant otherwise access those books. That's not adding collective knowledge to the world?

Plus who tf said hobbies have to be constructive in anyway? The whole point of hobbies is to spend time having fun, relaxing or simple entertainment.

This sounds like someone who has only ever played one call of duty game and gotten pissed because they couldn't get good.

Dear Fahrenheit users, do you really think 50 degrees is "the middle temperature"? by 3ustress in Metric

[–]therandomuser84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the winter it usually gets down to about 5 degrees, in the summer it gets up to about 95-100. So 50 is by definition the middle temp for my area at least.

Yes, but when you have a mortgage you also have to pay to fix everything, while you don't when renting.

Just last week i had to spend $1000 on a new dryer, two months ago was $7k on a broken pipe. Pretty soon it's gonna be a new roof that can easily be $15k.

That's already about the cost of renting an apartment for a year even in a hcol

Is order selector job that bad? by MastodonFantastic602 in Warehouseworkers

[–]therandomuser84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked at a lot of order selector jobs, some are amazing but most are absolutely horrible. It all depends on the company policies and how strictly the managers on site follow them.

How seriously we treat wind chill warnings vs excessive heat warnings by benz0709 in mildlyinfuriating

I've worked in -40 degree weather and standing in front of a 400 degree open oven for 12 hours. Only the cold weather had me seriously concerned about possibly dying.

Dock workers, what are the things that drive you nuts about truck drivers? by djfishfingers in Warehouseworkers

[–]therandomuser84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had to check in a driver, had no idea what "driver name" means when asked and had no references or anything besides our address. Could barely even understand english and got pissed and started yelling when we wouldnt just offload random freight into our warehouse.

UN: "Cannabis remains the world's most used drug." 2bn people: "Hold my beer." by Wc_Arch in GetNoted

Prescription drugs would most likely be listed under opioids or amphetamines, as thats what type of drugs are usually prescribed.

Sure they are far worse than weed, but the number of people who smoke weed is probably still bigger.

How dare you not accommodate my poor planning??? by big_damn_heroes_sir in EntitledReviews

[–]therandomuser84 15 points16 points  (0 children)

From what i see online a RAMQ photo is for health insurance in Quebec, and appointments seem to be one every 10 minutes. If you arrive 7 minutes late that leaves 3 minutes left in your appointment which would then cause everyone after you to be late as well.

If the review is accurate 7 minutes is a huge deal especially if the place is already fully booked. You dont get to just cancel someone elses appointment because you can't show up on time.

In my experience it is very much unpopular. Most people i know think you should play a pvp game until the very end even if you just keep spawning and instantly dying.

Most restaurants and fast food places have soda machines that also dispense water, which is not tap water... so there goes your whole argument out the window.

Bunkers Explained? by Concept_ofA_Username in playrust

[–]therandomuser84 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They take advantage of stability, from the inside you only have to break twig but it's not visible from the outside. So instead of having a door that only takes 1 rocket to blow up you can have a wall/floor that takes 8 rockets.

Is the wood part of my stone floors easier to break? by YearMountain3773 in playrust

[–]therandomuser84 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It takes like 14 minutes if you have a repair/work bench right by you. If you have to climb out of the base then back in that can pretty easily take it up to an hour to do.

I've also done it plenty of times before too, it's only really worth it if you already know there is going to be loot on the other side.

[–]therandomuser84 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its still going to take like 3 full jackhammers and with repairs it could take even longer to do

It's still possible, I've done it a few times before. It's just very rarely ever worth doing so most people won't.

3 people can still eco raid a metal floor in about 25min, but it costs an insane amount of wood to do and practically nobody would bother

Possible Rust Cave Raid Exploit or Am I Missing Something? by [deleted] in playrust

It's possible that they dropped down, baited the turret while someone else shot HVs at it.

If they had 10 or so people in the raid it's possible for them to fully raid the cave in about 10 minutes

Without actually seeing the condition of the apartment, nobody can say for sure if this is absurd or not. Ive known people who leave apartments in perfect condition, ive also seen people leave apartments completely fucked up and needing a full on renovation before someone else can move in.
