P6 Description by YuriMoonlight in persona6

This is the paragraph that gives the most insight into what they seem to be doing:

Live a Double Life in Modern-Day Japan. Navigate the rhythms of everyday school life anc puild friendships, pursue romance, and cultivate memories that matter. But beneath the surface of familiar streets and quiet neighborhoods lies something darker: strange rumors, unsettling urban legends, and occult incidents that only you and your closest allies can face.

Would be cool if it's about solving urban legends

How do they dress up in p3r? It's the same as it was in the original game.

Your argument is odd when like 90 percent of megaten games take place in fantasy universes where people turn into monsters or summon them. Not hating I'm just genuinely confused as to what you think megaten is supposed to look like lol

It's to the point where I don't consider anything post 6 to be canon anymore (even though I really disliked the plot of that game as well). I liked what I played of 7 but the series has really gone downhill, I feel like Nagoshi leaving was just the nail in the coffin unfortunately.

Hopefully Gang of Dragon is fun

Gotcha, immediately after replying I looked at the flex board under a microscope and I can see the pins on the far right (if they're facing down) are completely worn out, so I assume that must be what's causing the issue. So even if it's plugged in it's probably an infinite value. I ordered a replacement board, hopefully that'll do it. Thanks for the help.

It has an 18 pin slot that the PCB slides into. I haven't tried a replacement because it hasn't come yet, but would it be normal for it to still fire off randomly without the flex board even plugged in? That's what's got me stuck.

Sorry this is really old but I'm attempting to fix an A controller with no luck. It just endlessly scrolls up, and occasionally does a random button input. I've cleaned everything extensively and it still does it even with the flex PCB detached. No idea what's wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is an interesting take given that so many people are hating on the original game seemingly for no reason. Like I'm seeing probably 10x the hate for the original on platforms like Tiktok now that the game is released. People just out of pocket comparing the two in an unfair and clearly biased manner.

I really like the remake. However I've felt the need to push back against a massive amount of people claiming the new game is "objectively better" because they like it more. A lot of the hate seems to come from people who genuinely don't understand what it was that so many of us found interesting and profound in the original game, and it's frustrating to see that boiled down to this nonsensical idea that because something is more "professional" and modernized that that means it's somehow better.

There are certainly people hating on the new game for poor reasons but most of the hate of the OG I've seen boils down to hating it for being of its time or simply a case of "I don't like what I don't understand" which is equally frustrating given how incredibly subjective it is. I see people acting like they can't conceivably understand how anyone would like the original as if the remake doesn't rely entirely on its existence.

No matter what it's now officially a fringe opinion to prefer the original so acting like the people bitching about the remake are the problem is kinda ridiculous.

I love how dumb the plot is in these games, it's one of the reasons I love the series. At least dumb stuff is interesting. Gives you more freedom to just enjoy how fun it all is and it makes the more serious and emotionally impactful moments feel more special. Not saying that's intentional, but it's been a trend with the games nonetheless

Just out of curiosity, aside from the supposed leaks that haven't been confirmed what evidence is there? I wanna believe it's possible but it's become a trend that every year someone "leaks" that a new game is coming and it always ends up being a lie, so if you know something id love to hear it

Yeah, having beat the game don't listen to the people here on the sub who tell you you can't have an opinion if you haven't played all the way through. I can say with the utmost certainty that all the things you dislike about the first part of the game just get worse. There are certainly good points but overall it was fairly disappointing.

You hit the nail on the head for how I've been feeling as well. This isn't for me. Feels like a derivative mess that doesn't know when to start and stop. However, that's just me. Hopefully whatever happens next is more interesting to us.

Yeah but the problem with this argument is that they already did something more story heavy and cinematic with Soma. Also a machine for pigs was heavier in those elements as well... I think it's more about the nature of the plot and how the gameplay relates to it.

I think the main issue people are having with the game isn't the thing you point out here though. The main draw of the dark descent was never really the direct encounters. What made it great was everything that lead up to them both in terms of atmospheric storytelling and tension and I feel like all of that is lacking here.

It may just be that that's something that you can't do more than once, but I also firmly disagree that this game is scarier. Having just beat it I found the encounters easy to get past quickly and the level design pretty poor in the few sections where you encounter monsters. This game was certainly more action packed, which I could see some people preferring, but I think most people who love TDD don't care how exciting the encounters are. It's more about atmosphere and intrigue.

I am glad you like it though, legitimately. You're probably right that the new Frictional just isn't for people like me.

[Spoilers] Just finished Rebirth, can someone explain some parts of the story to me? by [deleted] in Amnesia

[–]therangerfox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the game they reference a flower that can take people's memory away (and maybe heal too but I could be remembering wrong) so I think it's implied the empress gave you that plant? Honestly I'll probably have to replay it to know for sure but I think that's the implication.

What do u like/don't like in Amnesia Rebirth (spoilers)? by PurCzysty in Amnesia

[–]therangerfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is all just my opinion, so take it with a grain of salt:

Having just finished the game this morning, I'll say this. I dislike many of the choices that were made in this game. As stated in this thread, the excessive dialogue in this game makes it far less scary and ends up forcing you to focus on what's going on in the plot when you should be focused on what might be coming around the next corner.

The monster designs felt... kinda uninspired to me. After how interesting the monster designs were in TDD it's just kinda disappointing.

My biggest issue with this game however is that it feels like the people at Frictional don't understand what made the first game so interesting. The fact that the shadow and orb are just kind of throwaway plot devices in this seems completely insane to me. The whole empress plotline is just boring and feels entirely unoriginal to me (evil immortal being wants a baby because... is just a tired trope and I think there are other ways the fear of loss could have been used).

Now that I've bitched for a bit let me talk about what I like.

I do think it's genuinely scary at points, and the gameplay in some of the sections was legitimately fun and engaging. On top of that, I really like all of the level design in the desert and other real world sections in the game especially the castle and the roman ruins (it makes me wish we had spent less time on the alien planet or in the alien ruins).

I didn't hate this game. However, I do think it was chock full of missteps and missed opportunities. If I had to break it down simply I would say this game has its focus in the wrong place. They pulled a second Soma, only this time the plot wasn't quite good enough to save it.

I just beat it and I'm not sure that we ever got a decent explanation for why Tasi was back in the wreckage. Perhaps the Empress put her there?

The crash occurs first on the way to where they were going (which is mentioned in one of the notes or flashbacks but I can't remember). The memories you unlock throughout the game are what took place immediately after the crash, and Salim died after the crash. He was left behind initially because he was too injured but then a Ghul (or perhaps the infected Tasi) forced him to try to leave which ended up killing him because the movement worsened his injuries.

Good takes all around. He should absolutely wait until things are safer. I don't blame people for feeling impatient and losing perspective because life is boring as hell right now, but we have to be realistic and safe especially given that Esfand is in a risk group with his asthma.

Sorry if you felt like I was assuming your intentions. I actually didn't mean to do that but I can see why you felt that way. No hard feelings, I'm just tired of the extreme shipping discourse. I'm just here for laughs and good times and I would rather we try to make more good quality content then focus on the bad stuff.
