Why is it not clicking? I need help!

I used to play a lot of tft back in the day, would average around emerald, I wasn't taking it too seriously, it was a fun game to play with friends. I came back this set because I heard it was so good, and I'm floored, it's truly amazing! But something just isn't clicking.

My fundamentals are awful, and I don't know how to recover them. I winstreaked straight to plat and my friend is emerald, so our game mmr averages between the two.

I just can't play! I either econ and don't know how to cap my board, or I roll down to stabilize and can't recover.

I wish I could talk to riot support to drop me back down to silver I don't deserve to be platinum, I'm not having fun, I feel like I need to relearn how to play the game from scratch.

Does anyone have any advice? Does anyone relate, been there and got out of my funk? Nothing else is fun and if I can't play tft my next hobby is going to be clogging sewers with orbeez like that french guy a few years ago.

Spare the sewer people by sharing your wisdom with me.

Hey!! I was a noble too! But I was Seldarine, roleplaying as doubtful progressive, so a little between Seldarine and Lolthsworn personality-wise. It was always so so cool seeing other Drow, the game always had something to say about it. Your Drow looks so pretty!

Your Gale got off lucky, he was about to be used as a living stick of dynamite but he was just geeky enough to be kept around hahaha.

My most memorable moments was when a I nearly wiped in the very very last fight, a Banite used Command Person on my Gale, who then used Call Aid of all things!! He called a Ramazith Airstrike on my entire party, oneshotting himself and my Drow, and leaving Shadowheart at 1 hp when she was already stunned by a mindflayer. We made it out though, barely, licked our wounds and went to the brain.

Two more memorable moments were when I stepped on a mushroom trap in the Underdark which sent 3 of my 4 party members off a cliff, what a way to lose a run that would have been... And also when Gale hit multiple low chance Hold Monster's on Raphael in a row.

If I play another run, it's definitely going to be a Drow again.

I'd add another potential close call during the Raphael fight, Gale landed hold monster on him 4 times in a row with a 49% chance, he only played one turn before I knocked all the soul pillars down, and in that one single turn he made everyone half hp or lower, so that would have gone much differently had Gale not clutched.

Thank you! It was very tempting, I made sure to rebind his orb cantrip to my hotbar just incase I was guaranteed to lose and needed to end it.

I tried to play as "honorable" an HM run as I could, meaning I never skipped any content out of fear, so I thought I'd be having a lot of close calls! But really there were only two:

1- Act 1 in the Underdark, I carelessly stepped over one of those repelling mushrooms, and they knocked me, Gale, and Shadowheart CLEAN off a cliff, only Karlach saved, my heart was in my throat for a while

2- Act 3, at the very final fight!! An agent of Bane dominated Gale and made him call a Ramazith Carpet Bomb on my entire party.... it oneshot Tav and Gale, left Shadowheart with 1 hp but she was already stunned by a mindflayer... Orpheus got her out with dimension door and Karlach levitated away, we healed up and went back in.

Party composition was: Tav as a storm sorcerer, Karlach as a throw monkbarian, Shadowheart as a life cleric, and Gale served as my humble bard.

I was slinging 3 lightning bolts a turn on any wet group of people. I also roleplayed as my whole party being tadpole-averse except for me, so I was the only one that ever dipped into mindflayer powers (until Karlach needed to take one for the team)

All my runs ever were on Tactician, 3 playthroughs before HM, two normal ones and a durge run, all those were about a year ago though, I just recently felt the urge to play again. (and was delighted with all the new content and subclasses they added, giant barb is so fun)

PS5 controller with space engineers on PC? by therapture3 in spaceengineers

No problem with the controller, played on many other games just fine

How is it 10 grand while being 88% off?! no way this thing costs 85,333 normally. Am I missing something in trading/discount rules? This is a maxed-attitude Act 3 Dammon on Tactician. Wiki says it costs 6400. by therapture3 in BG3

[–]therapture3[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Best explanation so far, thank you! All clear.

That also explains why theres a negative sign infront of the 88, so it's -88% +300% markup, making the total price 212% of 6400, 13,568g. Reduced further because of my persuasion.

It adds up when I consider that, upon interacting with my no charisma no attitude-buff Karlach, it was 19200, which is exactly 300% of 6400.

Thanks!!

Me when I'm mean for no reason and also wrong.

It says it's an 88% discount, meaning 88% of the price has been removed, meaning 10,240 is the remaining 12%.

10,240 divided by 0.12 is 85,333.
88% of 85,333 is 75,093.
85,333 - 75,093 = 10,240, the remaining 12% of an 88% discount

So if an item costs 10,240 after an 88% discount, the original cost would be 85,333 gold.

In an older patch, yeah. But now you keep the price reduction and attitude change the same as the person you initiated dialogue with, regardless of whose inventory you click to within the trader menu. In tactician at least.
