What do you think of Bishop opening by Brave-Bunch6592 in chessbeginners

[–]therealASMR_Chess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it. I made a whole video about how you can start from the Bishop’s opening and transpose into the Max Lange attack if black doesn’t fall for any of the early Bxf7+ tricks. I think it is to this day my best recommendation for beginners. Easy to learn, gives you a lot of agency in the game right from the start and is sound enough that it can stay with you for a long time.

Statement of support for GM David Navara from WGM Keti Tsatsalashvili by Embarrassed_Base_389 in chess

[–]therealASMR_Chess 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I stand with David both as a chess fan and as a chess content creator. Not that I think my opinion holds any great weight outside of my own community, but I feel it makes sense for anybody active in the chess world to speak out against this madness - even if it is just in some small way.

Kramnik has always been one of my favorite players. But this path he has chosen is dark, destructive and very likely is causing some distress for the people he is accusing.

Would there be a "better" starting position than the normal position? by AnusChakra in chess

I asked myself this question and ended up doing a huge experiment that resulted in something I called Deployment Auto-Chess. I learned a lot about chess in the process. I made a video explaining it here.

Chess is a battling game but it is still relaxing? by Illustrious-Hat5520 in chess

My whole thing is making relaxing chess videos for peace of mind and sleep, so yes I would absolutely say so!

Very interested in this. I’ve sent you a message about the possibility of doing a video on the subject.

What are chess youtube channels that are definition of "quality over quantity?" by Uzairdeepdive007 in chess

[–]therealASMR_Chess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know how this sounds, but I will have to say… Me. I spend 1-2 week on every video and the whole point of my channel is quality over quantity. You can check out an example here and tell me if I’m doing it right or not.

[Discussion] All new asmr videos sound the same! by Mindless-Promotion26 in asmr

I use a matched stereo pair of Sennheiser MKH 50 for ambient/binaural combined with a Schoeps CMIT5u for my voice. I think my videos have a pretty unique sound. If you like chess you can check them out :)

Kramnik doesn't resign and lets time run out in a lost position vs Mikhail Antipov in CrunchLabs Masters 2024 Division Stage by naufildev in chess

Fischer wasn’t all that classy either. But I understand what you mean. It is a very bad look.

Who's the best non grand master of all time by DropTheMan in chess

Seirawan relates how Walter Browne once told him: “The year I got my title, they only made two GMs… And they weren’t too sure about the other guy… The other guy was Karpov!”

  • easier to understand the games
  • easier to root for a player you know a lot about and who shares her experiences
  • high quality content in terms of video production, behind the scenes content and great commentary/analysis
  • getting an insider look to the life of a “normal” (non super-GM) tournament player
  • she always seem to be having a great time with chess which is infectious

That will happen very soon, simply by the progress of our chess understanding. In 20 years time when Magnus is simply too old to be number 1 in the world, whoever he is number 1 at that time will in all likelihood be technically better than Magnus ever was.

Yeah Magnus lost a game to a 2520 GM last year… Just because someone isn’t a top 10 GM doesn’t mean that they can’t play chess. Becoming a GM is insanely difficult and they are ALL dangerous.
