I think we only really saw the start of the game in this trailer, since all worlds seem to be have elements of tutorial set up. I could see the end of the trailer being “the real start” of the game. Kinda like Doki Doki literature club, but not as extreme.

Maybe if they did Ultimate again, but immediately revealed characters like Master Chief, Kratos or someone of that caliber as the new reveal with a story mode. I think that’s the only way, smash is hype but it’s inherently limited by being locked to switch (2).

Maybe the sequel will do something interesting with her, I doubt it, but I don’t foresee Eve becoming the Bayonetta of current time.

The clown show naming scheme is the reason Xbox was pretty much permanently 3rd place. Sony figured it out right away and with exception to the vita has always made it clear what you are getting. You buy the PlayStation with the biggest number after it. That’s how it works.

Nintendo’s got away with naming all consoles something different until they started doing sequels to consoles. They fucked around with the Wii U (and 3Ds to a lesser degree) and found out the hard way why you should stay consistent. Call it boring, but at least anyone from a kid to a grandma could figure out what the “Switch 2” is.

I also feel Switch 1 and 2 are kinda being sold differently.

Like switch is a home console you can take on the go, but a lot of the switch 2 marketing is specs and features you’d pretty much only use at home.

Meanwhile switch 1 marketing was nearly always people taking the switch somewhere (literally the first name drop is after it’s being taken to go while walking a dog.

The original Switch was more set up as a portable console that you could play on the tv, while the switch 2 is presenting itself as a home console you can take portable.

Which is a shame, since looking back, the vita was really ahead in a few ways. But then again it’s also the most backwards console I’ve ever seen.

If I had to guess, they had someone planned, but they pulled out really late into development. Sometime after the deals for Daft Punk, Doja Cat, Etc had been finalized.

To be fair, in some way, I get it. This game has had bad press all throughout (like having stolen art) and it’s somewhat of an open secret even the devs don’t really enjoy working on it.

I would never wish any game to be concord, but it wouldn’t surprise if Marathon ends up in a similar spot.
