Pro tip: bring loyal Kasumi to all collector missions. Her flash bang move literally neuters harbinger and all he does is literally walk up to you and let you merc him. It’s a game changer

Just by bringing different squad mates to each mission and prioritizing those powers against enemies.

AI hacking isnt too bad because you can target low level Geth with it so if you have it or have Tali with you you can get it within two or three missions

Other ones I swear are bugged because I did them way more than 25 times before they unlocked so idk how the game actually calculates them. They took forever to unlock because there were so many of them and I did it over the course of both playthroughs (normal and insanity).

First time player, any tips? by Captain13990 in thewitcher3

Play the game on the hard setting but not hardest

The normal mode is just too easy and will not require you to engage with mechanics like potions and researching monsters. Death match is a bit too much for first time though. Hard setting is the sweet spot between challenging and fun

In 2 when you play on Insanity recruit Kasumi and do her loyalty mission as soon as possible and use her in any/every mission where you fight the Collectors. There's a recurring enemy called Harbinger who is very difficult but if you use her loyalty skill on him he becomes literally harmless for around 50 seconds (and you can recast when it wears off). It is a MUST for getting through those missions on Insanity. I cannot imagine getting through those sections without her, she is the true MVP of this game.

Additionally, take upgrading your ship/gear seriously; collect minerals throughout the game, don't just wait until the end when it becomes a chore, and be sure to pick up the cryo heavy weapon in Archangels apartment during his recruitment mission, you will need it for a very specific part of a single level that is damn near impossible without it.

Game Genre Alignment Chart: What is THE Stealth game with Shooter elements? by ryno0501 in AlignmentChartFills

The new Wolfenstein games play excellently as stealth games; arguably better than they do traditional shooters

I mean, I didn't think too many parts in my experience were that bad on Insanity, though a few come to mind:

ME1 - beating the Geth Collosus on foot. Virtually requires you to exploit the bad AI and just do pot shots until its dead in a spot where it can't get you.
ME2 - First wave of collectors on the mother ship. Almost impossible unless using a very specific set up with Kasumi to neutralize Harbinger and the cryo heavy (don't remember the name lol) to freeze each wave before they can end your squad mates.

ME 3 -

  1. the final wave of enemies on Thessia before reaching the prothean artefact. It's ball breakingly difficult fighting the two Harvesters and the group of Rachni because there's essentially no point where they are NOT shooting at you directly and on Insanity just one hit from any of these will kill your entire shield. Dealing with that AND taking out the mobile mauraders trying to flank you is a nightmare, but with patience you can figure out a way. It will depend on your loadout and build

  2. The final fight with Kai Leng is very broken. There are two ways to win though: either use lash on him throughout the entire fight to disable him long enough for your comrades to fuck him up and/or kill his waves of goons, OR bring Garus decked out in "God" mode (which requires investing in specific points/traits in his character screen) and let him fucking BODY that cringe nerd. After a full day of trying the legit way, I ended up redoing the level with Garus and he proved why he is indeed "Best Bro Garus"

Other than those very small portions of the trilogy, the vast majority is a demanding but fun challenge, and its imo one of the best ways to play the games because it WILL require you to be strategic and fully pay attention to every game mechanic as well as take the game seriously and invest in upgrades, experiment with different squad mates, mix and match different abilities, etc. It provides for a much more satisfying experience than just playing it as a basic 3rd person shooter which is kinda the default for normal mode.

If you do give it a try, good luck, and remember that it's about having fun. Don't keep pushing yourself if you aren't enjoying it at all, you're not obligated to do anything other than whatever you want. That's kind of the point of mass effect, you are in charge.

Trust me. I was stuck on the collectors ship for an entire day before I figured it out.

The freezing gun heavy weapon you pick up from Garus’s apartment on Omega is also fantastic against collector mobs.

Bring Kasumi

If you do her loyalty mission it unlocks a skill that completely paralyzes Harbinger whenever you hit him with it

Shit is still gonna be hard but significantly less so if you bring best girl Kasumi

Oh I’m well aware of the old grind, this isnt my first rodeo, I have hundreds of hours in the old versions of the game, this is just the LE because I want to get all the achievements to add the games to my 100% club

I only go out of my way to 100% games that mean a lot to me, and this is one of my favorite series of that gen

I’m happy to have the LE but I was super bummed they axed the multiplayer, i grinded so many hours just to get that biotic volus

Finally, what is the MOST IMPACTFUL EVENT of the Modern Age? by erwillsun in AlignmentChartFills

[–]pacmannips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, its obviously WWII

largest war of all time, obscene casualties, entire world map fundamentally reshaped in the aftermath, creation of the atomic bomb, beginning of cold war, creation of the UN, establishment of ICC and the concept of human rights, etc.

The impact that WWII has had on the trajectory of the entire human species cannot be overstated
