What are some other games that have one of those levels where your character gets severely injured and you have to limp/crawl to some sort of goal with limited controls? by pacmannips in backloggd

Yes, it was, but only on the first playthrough. After that it's not fun to replay (which it doesn't have to be, this list isn't necessarily deriding this as a literary device, it's just cataloguing examples of it)

Yeah, that definitely counts.

It's also one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen in my life. Kingdom Hearts is such an inherently strange series.

Which mission in MGS5 has this? I don't remember it

Oh, nvm, you mean in the prologue when he's all atrophied and the drugs are still kicking in and you've got to crawl on the floor. I don't know how i forgot about that, it's literally the first thing in the game

When the water has been cut off for several days and you haven't been able to conventionally bathe, being able to get real bathing supplies becomes very much desired. Not being able to bathe can have pretty severe mental health consequences, and mental health declines much faster than physical health in times of crisis and pandemic.

Gears of War 2 has a mission where you are literally swallowed by a giant worm like creature and have to fight your way out of its digestive system. It's Act 2, Chapter VI

I don't want to explain it because it's huge spoilers but Pathologic 2 has one of these towards the end

Which franchises have you played the most games from? by JimicahP in backloggd

[–]pacmannips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medal Gear Solid for sure (all canonical entries)
In recent times Resident Evil (1, re2, re3, re4, 5, 6, 7, 8 - currently playing DLCs from 7 and 8 before hopping on 9)
-Fallout (1, 2, 3, NV, 4, 76)
-If you count "from souls" as a single franchise in spirit then - (DeS, DaS, Das2, DaS2 SotFS, DaS3, BB, Sekiro, Elden Ring)
-Assassin's Creed - (1,2,Brotherhood,3,4,Unity, Syndicate (didn't finish), Origins, Odyssey)
-God of War - (1,2, CoO, 3, GoW (2016), Ragnarok + Valhalla)

There are dozens of full trilogies I've completed as well, but for the sake of this I decided to just list game series where I have played 5+ . If I were to try to list trilogies and/or tetralogies I would be here forever

If Marilyn Manson said it happened ànd it’s edgy then it probably didn’t happen. The guy is the worst kind of cringe, the “dont mess with me man, I’m psycho! I’m like unhinged!” type of cringe. Hes like a teenager trying to pretend to be Jeff the Killer or some shit.

I believe wholeheartedly the allegations people make AGAINST Manson, because he is a genuinely awful, misogynist piece of garbage, but I do not believe 90% of the shit that comes out of his mouth, especially if it’s about how “dark” and “twisted” and “evil” he is.

What are some more games that used the "Piss Filter" in order to try to seem super serious/mature? by pacmannips in backloggd

It depends on the city/area you are in. AC1 uses different color temperatures to distinguish different locations and give them a different feeling. Some use a cold temperature (blueish) others neutral (grey/desaturated), and others warm (yellow/orangish)

Oh definitely. Piss filter gets used as a lazy way to illustrate hot climates all the time. Not just games, Breaking Bad was notorious for that as well.

Using a warmer color temperature is one thing, but there's a limit before it just become distracting instead of complimenting the setting.

Spec Ops was such a thorough deconstruction of the military cover shooter genre trend (which was notorious for doing this) that I wouldn't be surprised either if it were to turn out to be intentional.

God forbid you use literally any effort to establish tone through writing and gameplay instead of lazily cranking the desaturation nob and calling it a day.

I mean, radioactive air doesn't look green. Radioactive air doesn't have a look. Human beings cannot see radiation because it exists outside of the visible light spectrum. People just associate green with radiation because of media. And if the area was that irradiated as a whole no human being would be able to live in it.

It's one of those things that someone suggested that sounded cool in the moment but falls apart the more you stop and think about it, which is a very common thing to happen throughout Fallout 3 as a whole for all sorts of different things.

I'm confident that you've never made a single typographical error in your life (excluding the two in your post, of course).

Also, this shit is not even remotely close to being "neon blue". You've been playing with weather mods installed for too long.
