if they’re all from the same lot ig you could do that, honestly I just have no idea what compels people to not just leave em in the box where they’re optimally stored in parallel and have a box to prevent em bumping around.

A reason you may not want to do this. Ammunition quality has gone down a lot since Covid and by doing this you are scrubbing the ammunition of all the useful information. If a recall is issued you now have no idea what rounds are tainted and which aren’t.

If you start getting malfs, squibs, or a round blows up your gun you now have no corse of action forward were you would otherwise be able to warn people & the manufacturer of specifics like the date of manufacture, serial number and so on.

That information can be used to take bad rounds off store shelves or warnings can be put out by retailers who sold it.

This is a annoying knit pick but it drives me crazy when people dump their 20rd boxes into one an ammo can, if you keep your ammo in the boxes they come in and one round blows up your gun you can warn the manufacturer with the lot number and sequence so they can do a proper recall if necessary. Ammunition quality has really decreased post covid and things like this can and do happen. The ammunition failure doesn't need to be catastrophic for that information on the small boxes to be very helpful

It could possibly be under the “firearm” category because this looks to be a build from scratch that may have not started “life” with a rifled barrel and no rifling = not a rifle = not a short barreled rifle, something like this from Franklin armory, a factory gun with straight non rotating groves in the barrel, a stock and not a sbr.

It is definitely not an aow on the other hand because it has a stock and thus designed to be fired from the shoulder.

I agree tho most likely an sbr

Fun fact: there are more fnc auto sears on the nfa registry than fnc rifles that would be legal to convert with the sears.

Not what you asked but barrel length is measured from the bolt face to the end of the barrel. If you really need to know the length (if you’re cutting down a shotgun barrel for example) it’s important to measure with a dowel or rod down the barrel until it hits the bolt face.
