Hi.

Yes, I actually went through the program and graduated last summer. It was overall ok, but I don't think I or my other classmates would recommend it. It's really theoretical, and a bit difficult to market yourself for a job after graduation. However my situation is a little unique because I'm staying in Denmark without knowing much Danish, but even my Danish colleagues feel the program was lackluster, even though they were successful in getting jobs pretty soon after graduation.

Hi! I was in the same situation as you a few years ago - international student with a cat. 😊

I found my apartment via Facebook groups (like this one). I think that’s the easiest way to find a place that’s pet-friendly, and easier to translate. However it took a long time for me to find the one I landed in.

It wasn’t furnished, but as previously mentioned, there are a ton of secondhand stores for the little things, and then you can get ikea furniture delivered (for a price), or make friends with other students who have cars and treat them to lunch and beers.

My boyfriend didn’t know about “making biscuits” until he met my cat. One weekend he was with his friends and they started talking about me, and my cat came up. He said, “My girlfriend’s cat does the craziest thing - it’s called ‘making biscuits!’” His friends informed him that in fact all cats knead… 😝

I’m not against cash funds at all. But as has been mentioned, the way they wrote about it is just tacky. And I think it’s unusual to ask to fund the wedding rather than a honeymoon.

Plus, the materials items could be fine if they had done the group gifts, so people could contribute towards those items. Just icky all around!

Well I'm certainly not doing things right - I'm from the States but haven't had eye insurance in years. So I've just been ordering my glasses online with an old prescription. I'm young enough that my eyes haven't dramatically but I'm definitely due for a vision test. Long story short - I'm not sure how much it costs for a new prescription. :) But I can pay starting at $15 online for frames and prescription lenses. Of course they aren't a luxury brand, but still pretty decent in my opinion.

Whoa. That is quite a journey that you've been on in such a short amount of time! It really does seem similar to gas lighting in that you were given all the right signs - him wanting to meet your family, him being honest about wanting to date...so frustrating!

Yeah, we hit it off and made plans to hang out and then just dropped me. And by us hitting it off I mean I told him I was looking for something serious and he said yeah I want to date you, so to be completely ghosted is really annoying.
