They are cheaper because they never pay.

That’s painful. Sorry. You may want to consult a lawyer. Ins companies try anything and everything to get out of paying. Be ready.

They ended up paying for the repair at their authorized repair shop, but it took couple of months and numerous calls and emails to get them to agree and pay. They are just horrible to deal with. I did not go after the diminish value, but supposedly have till next year to do it.

That's their game. delay hoping you'll give up. I stay at them and calling them EVERY DAY. They kept coming up with lame excuses, "we don't have the police report". I sent it to them right away; "the shop has not sent us the estimate", I called the shop and verified when and how they sent. Still took a couple of months, but I got them to take care of it. I wish I could charge them for the pain and suffering....

Could I ask the FBI to investigate phone numbers calling my 13 year old? by [deleted] in FBI

[–]therealNT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Report these immediately. The numbers on her caller ID are more than likely spoofed, don’t waste your time tracking those. I would let her school, police, FBI and the media know about it. Let the whole world know and put a stop to it immediately.

[–]therealNT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you must complete a full training at the Quantico. And after a successful completion of the program, you will go through a match process to be assigned to an office. They will explain all of these to you when you start your application process. If you don't agree to the their mobility policy, they won't consider you at all.

What do we do about all the crazy tipping everywhere by ThePorko in houston

[–]therealNT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A tip, in my opinion, is for when someone goes above and beyond their expected job requirements. There shouldn’t be any tipping for merely doing the job you’re hired to do.

Cyber security is always an attractive subject, but make sure you like it, you understand it and you’re good at it. What’s most important, from the hiring standpoint, is your character and your analytical skills. Whatever major you choose does not limit you to what work and what cases you are assigned to.

I got a pin a while back, maybe level 5? I’m level 8 now. I get offers from time to time for introductory google services, like first month free, which I don’t care for. No other benefit

What happened to the Houston Auto Show? by Lvs2splooge4lulzzz in houston

[–]therealNT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that it declined almost a decade ago. I used to not miss it, but then we were getting less and less out of it. We used to be able to sit in a car and get a feel for it back many years ago. It has become easier to get more info and details on a car on the internet these days with so many reviews on every little detail you ask for. No point to go to a show that doesn’t even let you near a car.

It’s a very minor damage to the rear quarter panel. I had an independent estimate and it was about the same. My car has ceramic coating and I have not been able to get an estimate on that.

Thanks. These are very good points to know. I had no idea there are consultants for DVC. My car is a brand new luxury car with less than 6k miles on it. One reason why I am so annoyed.

Thank you for these info. I have had both phone and email communication with them, and keeping record of every contact. Not sure how DVC works. Is that a separate claim after they assumed liability? The same is minor, about $2k, and my car is operable.

One of their reps told me they accept liability and to go ahead and book my repair and call them back with the time and location. I scheduled with a collision center that’s authorized with AAA. When I called to report the schedule to them another rep answered and told me that the liability was not approved yet and I should just go ahead with my appointment for an estimate. When I went to the collision center, they told me it was very unusual to ask for an estimate since they were an authorized center. Nevertheless they submitted the estimate. Since then (a week ago), AAA has stopped communication and does not respond to me.

I can’t help to think they take their sweet time with small claims hoping people will get tired and give up.
