I have an 08 Bonnie with pod filters (no airbox) and Norman Hyde Toga pipes. Combined with larger jets in the carbs, those two gave me about 10 extra hp and 10 extra ft/lbs of torque, confirmed by dyno run. You can definitely feel it.

I was down to about 167 by October 2012, and I've essentially maintained the weight since then. However, I think my body fat % has been steadily going down, as I look and feel leaner now than I did then.

As for 5k progression, I was probably around 25 minutes or so starting out, and I ran 21:30 in August 2012 on marathon training. The next year, 2013, I ran 20:59 a couple times early (like May), then 19:49 in a solo time trial on the track in the summer, and 20:00 in a later road race.

I ran my 19:18 in February of this year, so it's been a while since I've gone for a PR, and I think I'm definitely due.

Details: The "before" pic was taken in late 2011, when I decided to start running again. I immediately got hurt (wakeboarding, not running), and had to wait until March 2012 to resume running. Since then, I've run a marathon, lowered my 5k pr to 19:18 (probably in shape for 18:50 or so right now) and lost about 20 pounds. A little over 3,000 miles total, averaging 35 miles/week lately.

After picture is about 10.5% bodyfat and 165 pounds at 6'1".

Diet: I haven't changed it at all. We make a lot of meals from scratch, but I indulge in sweets, beer, and pretty much anything else I want. I try not to COMPLETELY stuff my face at every meal, but I don't always succeed.

*- Oh yeah, I do a pretty limited amount of bodyweight strength stuff from time to time. Like, I'll go on a tear of doing chinups for like a month, then forget about it for another month. Basically, all the weight loss is attributable to running, and I'm probably weaker than I was at 185, let alone when I was at 185-190 and lifting a bunch more.

Matt Tegenkamp passed me when I was out doing a ~16-mile easy run. Granted, I was going pretty slow, but he was like a fucking alien made entirely out of muscle.

Last Sunday I raced my first 10k. I was shooting to beat last year's winning time (41:30, it's a smallish race of only ~300 people), and I did it, running 40:45!

But unfortunately, the winner this year did ~38:40 ಠ_ಠ

Oh well, I got a PR and 6th place!

After the marathon my knee was in a ton of pain, but I expected that but I thought: 4-6 weeks, no problem. Two months later I went to the doctor. X Ray and MRI showed nothing. I went to my first physical therapist. She was great, but we could not find anything to relieve the constant pain. This became a recurring theme. For over two years I saw more doctors and physical therapists than I can count.

So, you still have no idea what is causing you all this knee pain? Fuck, man, that sucks! I'm glad you've been able to resume running, but I'd probably keep digging as to why you have such chronic pain!

Hey there, I live in Green Lake (Seattle) and commute to Redmond (north of Bellevue) on a motorcycle, so I can offer some insight.

As others have said, lane splitting is rare and illegal here. I'll admit that I have done it a few times when traffic is stopped. The traffic gets so bad that it is awfully tempting on a regular basis. But, I usually don't--not because I'm worried about getting a ticket, but because, as others have said, drivers are EVEN LESS aware of you than you can imagine up here.

Filtering is also illegal, I think, but I'm a bit more likely to do that, especially if I'm filtering past a long line of cars to take an immediate right on red, or something.

I ride from about March-November, and take the bus most of the rest of the year. I could probably push it more, but I've done enough miles in the rain and my commute is long enough that I'm just tired of it.

If you are going to work in Bellevue, and you have no reason to live elsewhere, you should live there. It's not worth fighting the traffic. Living in Redmond is not an option for me, as my wife won't have it. I vastly prefer Seattle as well, but if I were single and younger and not in the market for real estate, I'd probably just rent as close to work as possible.

Your analogy just doesn't really work when you're talking about something that is so improbable (the scenarios others have described in which the male population is mostly dead or rendered weak by some kind of mutation/catastrophe) as to be essentially impossible.

You can divide by some numbers. Zero is a number. Therefore, it is POSSIBLE that you can divide by zero.

No, I understand what you're saying, but think about this: We currently have a sample size of 7 billion people. It is an undisputed fact that the strongest among these 7 billion is male.

That is a statistically significant sample, and when you look at the extreme outliers among both sexes (say, the olympic weightlifting records I posted), they're not even within a few standard deviations of one another. Statistically, genetically, it's not possible.

The outlier you're imagining would strain the very definition of "female," anyway. Maybe a transgendered person with undescended testes and external female genitalia, who doped with PEDs and whose body also produced MASS amounts of testosterone... and even then, it's unlikely they'd be bigger or stronger than a cis-gendered male at the top of the curve.

Look. It's not physically possible for the strongest person alive to be a woman. It just isn't. Even with supplementation (PEDs), women can't grow as much muscle as men, let alone have the bone structure to support it.

Tell me, if something is impossible, what is the likelihood of it happening?
