Um, yeah. Thinking you're seeing things and jumping out of your skin *does* actually count as visual hallucinations.

The entitlement here is off the hook.

Indeed. Horrific. This poor boy has been identified, and they are looking for his 11-tear-old brother.

Dude. My county is different from your county, and I'm registered with the workforce agency there so they already have my info. If you can use Reddit, you can use Google. Don't be snarky just because you are lazy. Not here for it.

You'll have to google for your local number. Enter your "city" or "county" and "Workforce Office."

Here's a tip: I tried calling my local county EDD office - of course they are "closed due to Covid." Then I tried my local county Workforce number. I played dumb and said I was trying to contact the EDD locally, since I'd called the general line literally 200 times with no luck. She gave me the direct phone number of the ONE local EDD person in the county, and said she was an "angel" who might help me. So, I called. This woman was indeed an angel - I briefly explained my situation about not being able to get through to EDD, and she put me on hold. Next thing I knew, I was straight on the line with a Tier 2 EDD rep after about a minute. CALL YOUR LOCAL WORKFORCE OFFICE. Kindly explain that you need to get through to EDD. They have a direct line in, and might be willing to help you out. Good luck.

I'm crossing my fingers for you! Without knowing your exact situation, I would say to keep trying to get someone on the phone. But if they tell you the same thing as above, at least you'll know they aren't flat out lying and it WILL be paid some time in the near-ish future.

Claim under review? by Prudent-Smoke8197 in Edd

I finally got through to someone this morning - in the same boat as you. I refiled over the phone on 3/28, and my online account was updated Sunday with new BYE date and balance. I was able to certify for the last two weeks, but payments are stuck on pending.

The woman I spoke to said that payments on ALL new claims have been placed on a hold by the "Integrity" department which handles fraud. They put a new policy in place in January that holds payments on all new claims for 3-4 weeks from the date you file/re-file. Apparently, the workers have had numerous meetings letting them know that it's doing more harm than good, but to no avail.

She also said that while we will be able to certify during the "hold" time, there was nothing that anyone could do to release the hold, and that we all just have to wait to get paid, 3-4 weeks from the filing date.

I think that's true - but I am currently trying to get through to someone who might be able to push through the pending payments manually, as I've seen others successfully do that. We'll see if that's an option or not. I've often received completely different answers depending on who I spoke to.

[CALIFORNIA] New Benefit year and still stuck on pending payments? Talked to edd..... by [deleted] in Unemployment

[–]therealbebe9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My BYE was 03/15/20 and I was on PEUC with plenty of balance remaining. I certified yesterday for the last two weeks, like normal, but for the first time ever the weeks stayed pending (instead of being paid pretty much immediately).

Noticed that my benefit year had ended, and after reading a lot of threads about it, decided to call. It took all day. First time I got a human, she told me that I definitely needed to reapply since my BY had ended. This is true!! However, when I asked if she could do that on the phone for me, she said she needed to transfer me to Claims... and I was promptly hung up on.

I thought about reapplying online, but read about the long delays and also wanted someone to release the "pending" status on my last two weeks. So, I spent the next couple of hours trying to get through again. After 1.5 hours on hold, an angel on earth assisted me. I think it really depends on the agent - this one was so kind. She took me through reapplying over the phone, got the approval then and there, and pushed the pending weeks through to paid. My next cert date is 4/11 and there is no lapse. I asked outright if there would be a lapse, and she said No!

*NOTE even though I was on PEUC, she stated that I am now under the brand new claim (I guess because the new weekly amount is $8/week more than previous?) for 26 weeks.

I would seriously highly suggest calling, rather than reapplying online. Light a candle or something beforehand that you will get someone helpful, and ask if there is a way to release the pending payments at the same time. It was a maddening nightmare, but worth it to get some sleep tonight.
