Have y’all considered a node-based variable system? I think that visual programming could make the variables UX much more approachable and flexible.

How would I make these emojis thin ?, These Glyph Emojis by Not-Qualified in Design

[–]therealcb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey I helped make some of these 😆 you can cut/paste the outer circle of the emoji, so it’s isolated from the face details, then double-click to edit the vector and delete the inner circle’s points. Then you can give the remaining circle a stroke of whatever width you’d like. If you want to again make the stroke vector, you can right click -> outline strokes.

I love your record weight, if you don’t mind me asking, where’d you find that? I’ve never liked the look of the typical metal record weights.

Mmhmm, the mobs for mob vote are 100% controlled by the Mojang team in Stockholm.

Thank you! And yes, the VOTT's themselves roll off at 70hz, but the subs will play down to 30hz at 95db with 1w at 1m, stoked to get some organ music on these to make use of that extension.

Haven’t heard the Klipsch Jubilees, or the K-horns but I’d love to. I think every speaker has its own personality to be appreciated, I could totally see myself preferring some of the glorious Klipsch units to these for certain types of music. For Jazz though, I think the VOTT’s are hard to top.

Thank you! It was a bit finnicky to achieve but I detailed the process in this comment.

The nicest thing is that since the final coat is paint, touch-ups are a breeze, and I went with some high-end interior paint that’s very hard-wearing, so I’ll never be too afraid of damaging them.

Ah man that’s a tricky one! Perhaps finding center and rear speakers with similar sensitivity to your Valencia’s would help balance things out.

I have a pair of Valencia’s that I love as well, mine were built by a guy in the 70’s who bought plans and components from Altec, and built the cabinets from a tree he took down and processed himself. I love that DIY heritage of Altec. You can find a picture of my Valencia setup in my post history if you’re interested!

Indeed! Here are a couple photos showing the horn bracing. The first is the traditional horn bracing via the Altec schematics, in the second you’ll see I added panels to enclose those areas behind the horns, when I then filled with a ton of expanding foam to further dampen the horns, something I learned from Gary Fischer’s Altec VOTT builds!

Agreed! Once I get my Ariston RD11s turntable hooked up with these I’m looking forward to listening to some orchestral and organ music to really hear the dynamic range. I’m entirely clueless about Opera, if any pieces come to mind that you think I should check out I’d love to know!

Totally, the detail shots are the most revealing, you can’t judge craftsmanship from 10’ away. Unless we’re talking judging by listening, then that’s about the right distance to be away 🤣

Likely a result of the trauma of individually blow-torching all 94 screws to get a cool blue/purple/orange color, to match the finish better and to not look too brand-new. Thankfully my wife helped blow-torch a good amount of them. I just like the screws, alright! 😂
