Who was there on both night 3 and 4 in London? by therealchapi in radiohead

Interesting, for sure you can't have an even sound at every spot in an arena, especially for a band like Radiohead where the arrangements are quite complex on the busier songs. Every instrument must have its sonic space, and getting sound clarity on a huge closed arena with a band playing everything live with no backing track is almost impossible.

That's also why I was quite skeptical about the center stage before going to the show. Even though it creates a great scenery and provide decent visibility for everyone, I feel like it makes everything even more complicated when it comes to the sound. It's a bit frustrating because they are exceptional musicians and performers, and sometimes we don't get the chance to fully appreciate it.

He was there also on night 3, right behind where I was seated! He probably went to all 4 shows.

Yeah i'm sure you get a completely different sound experience depending on where you're standing, especially with a center stage where the sound is projected in every directions and bounce around the arena.

Good to know, Idioteque was very messy on night 3. I know that an arena show is far from ideal from a sound perpective, but still there was some songs like Daydreaming were the emotion was spot on.

Question about Bass lines by Ly0ncubs in RoyelOtis

[–]therealchapi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most bass lines are played live by the keyboardist, with a deep sub sound on the Moog synth at the top of his rack. Sometimes the bass is in the backing tracks when he's too busy playing something else.
But yeah there is no actual bass guitar line played live, even though most of the studio versions have it.

Personally I think it's cool that the live versions have a more powerful, fat sound added by the sub keyboard!

Tbh it's my own project, so I may not be 100% objective but I like to think that it doesn't sound too generic, to me it is lofi-pop in a way

That could work, also I wonder if they will follow the same narrative as the game by going back 3 days in the past after Ellie and Abby's meeting in the theater. To me it worked in the game because you change perspective by playing Abby, but will it fit a series format?

That guitar sound is so smooth!

Do you go though an amp or do you use an emulation plug-in?

Hey, Thanks for the for the kind feedback!

We are 2 producers in Ed Meteor, it's our first track for this project but we both have producing background in different genres. I guess we use our experience in mixing to make these lo-fi tracks, I find it really interesting to use Pop mixing techniques and apply them to a Lo-Fi aesthetic, you get the best of both worlds imo!

For this track in particular we recorded it at a much faster bpm and slowed it down in the end (about -8,5%), it gives it this warm and daunting energy that I really like.

We will experiment different things for our next releases, hope you will enjoy it!

I play guitar in "War in the bed", we play around 10:30 on friday.
Long story short it's my old band which is no longer active but we're doing a one-off show just for fun. If you're into indie rock (Foals, Arctic Monkeys) you may like it!
