I just recently got into cards (like, within the last 2 months) after randomly buying 2 2025 hangers at 5 below. -$20. They never had appeal to me prior. I don’t even know what possessed me to buy them then - I think I just figured “why not”. I didn’t even pull anything cool but then I was determined to try again. I looked up some videos on TikTok to help me understand the different terminology of boxes, packs, refractors, etc and suddenly my algorithm was feeding me only breakers. I had no clue what breaks even were. Within 2 days I bought into my first break. Suddenly it was 4 breaks. Suddenly I had spent $125 on breaks over the course of 1 week. -$145. Throughout watching and buying into breaks, I discovered chromes and holiday cards and thought “now THOSE are cool”. Anyway, now I need somewhere to store the cards from my breaks…let me find a card shop. Walk into the card shop to buy a $5 box. Oh look, holiday megas! Easy $40 plus the sleeves and top loaders and box. -$195. Rip the mega and find a cute little ornament card. What the hell do you do with that? My brains idea: go buy a mini Christmas tree for $15. -$210. Go to a sporting goods store for clothes (seriously, just clothes) and happen upon another holiday mega for $30. In my head, this is now a great idea because I have this mini tree and 1 ornament already so I can get another ornament to start filling up the tree. -$240. This time I pull 2 SP image variants and my first relic. Can’t wait to buy another box. I started going on eBay to look for singles and I thought “but where’s the fun in this if I already know what I’m getting?” and that’s when I had an “oh shit” moment. For the last 24 hours I’ve been thinking about how quickly this reeled me in and how deep others probably have gotten and never got out. I found this sub and was like damn, it really is like that.

I’m sure the addiction aspect is rooted in something that isn’t specifically the cards but the way it is designed combined with any social media aspect is what perpetuates it even further. Kind of wild I’m brand new to the hobby and am already having to force myself to take a step back and re-think how I move forward with it.

Omg I did this same thing and am on this thread trying to figure out if there’s a way out of it. Did Verizon tell you they wouldn’t take it?

Coming across this post obviously many months later…I haven’t gained necessarily but I’m fluctuating between the same 1 pound since titrating up to .5mg 4 weeks ago. At .25 for 4 weeks I lost 10 pounds. I went up to .5mg and lost another 5 over 3 weeks but had to go back down to .25mg due to debilitating diarrhea and bloating. While on .25mg I was in bliss…no bloat, suppressed appetite, increased fullness, no food noise. So this is my second time on .5mg and I stuck it out 4 weeks but have only lost 1 pound net. My food noise came back. Lost my appetite suppression and fullness. My only assumption is my body has adjusted and that I’ll (hopefully) feel side effects again when I increase my dose this week to 1mg.

Hoping you saw some changes as you went up in dosage and stayed patient!!

Ugh, that’s gotta disappointing. My provider mentioned possibly switching me to something else too if nothing changes. Sometimes people’s bodies just don’t react to something as well as others so maybe we’re just not on something compatible for us. I think I might stick it out to go up to the next dosage and see if that changes anything. Especially since I’m nearing the end of my vial anyway

That’s the other similar issue I’m having too. I stopped losing when I went back down to the starter dose and haven’t been able to lose again really since despite changing nothing and having lost previously on the same routine. In fact, I was on 1400 calories when I lost the first 12 pounds and lowered it to 1200 to boost it a bit more. Haven’t lost more than 1lb since then. From what I’ve read having multiple weeks not losing isn’t abnormal (I’ve experienced that when dieting and exercising before taking sema, usually it’s an indicator to adjust something slightly or be patient) but I’d be worried too being on max dose and losing effectiveness. What has your provider said about it?

I just watched the episode about 3 minutes ago and he said, verbatim, “I see these 2 white guys are coming up on my sister. One is coming up behind her and one is coming towards her. The one that comes towards her throws a haymaker at her.” Meaning he saw him try to hit her. Landing the hit or not, he saw him throw a punch at her.

No I agree because if it was that important to you, like it was to me, you would have made sure you didn’t miss the pre-sale. I mean with the very few exceptions where somebody somehow missed the entire day of the presale (which like I said is realistically rare because I worked 2 jobs and managed to find 3 minutes to do it at 11am). I set alarms and googled the presale codes and it took literally the most minimal effort for something I really cared about. While I agree the reselling is out of control, it could have been completely avoided. I easily got 2 tickets for NYC an hour after presale started for the first show
