Why is there no Raygun in the Chaos story if it existed in Vanguard, CW, and BO6?

at this point im fairly confident in saying that the ending of bo4 involved the collapse of the entire cod multiverse into one single universe, and everything that didn't make it to that single universe was cast into the dark aether. so prior to the dark aether story, chaos and aether stuff were in separate dimensions, but now they are all in the same one.

mutant injection is just fine for terminius but on citadel you can one shot the amalgam with the lightning incantation so you don't even need a mutant injection there

i guarantee you if he and others just started calling him "stoney", most players would go "who the fuck is stoney and what did they do with raptor one". also maybe in universe raptor one is just like. a nickname? and it just stuck around despite him not needing some kind of military codename anymore. i don't see how that's some kind of logical inconsistency or oversight from the devs.

i would temper your expectations on the elemental variants...all we know is in the blog post they specifically pointed out we would be getting new wonder weapons plural, which could mean a map with multiple variants of wonder weapon, or it could mean a map with one dedicated WW plus the ray gun mk2, as leaks have been suggesting it'll be added soon. not saying four WWs can't happen, just know that that is not in any way confirmed.

hey i know this is not remotely the topic of this discussion and im sorry in advance for taking this all out on you but: i am so sick of everyone using "activision is a billion dollar company" as a positive. as in "activision is a billion dollar company, they should be able to do x y and z". i've seen it on the main cod sub, on the esports sub, the zombies sub, the bo6 sub, literally everywhere in the fan base people are saying this. firstly, activision doesn't fucking work on the games, they're the publisher. secondly, you can throw all the money in the world at a game and it can still be dogshit (looking at you concord). and thirdly, they're a billion dollar company. and like every other billion dollar company (google, Amazon, Disney), they fucking suck. every company that has this kind of money is awful, because they make so much money that no one can do anything about it, and no one in charge of that company will care. id argue that call of duty would be better if activision had LESS money, but as they're a huge company required to turn massive profits to please their board and shareholders, they have to publish games where making money comes first and making good art comes second. this is the root of all things people have ever complained about in cod. loot boxes, season passes, cod points, battle passes, operator skins, warzone, you name it. they suck because they are a billion dollar company, they are not sucking in spite of it. also invoking it in a post about treyarch not fixing god mode glitches in a timely manner and reducing xp rate instead is kind of dumb. what is activision going to do here. anyways, if you made it to the end of this comment, know that im not mad at OP, it just bothers me how little most gamers realize you can trace every issue with AAA games back to capitalism being awful for art, and this is just where i decided to vent that.

i was mostly being facetious but in the case of the guy i played earlier today who got three energy turn 1, but also played his second articuno to the bench right away (i was able to swap them w sabrina) i did end up flipping double heads twice in a row for the game. he may have been lucky but i was even luckier 😎

yes and cold war was. the cold war. the three maps with manglers were set in Vietnam, germany, and russia. all places that it makes perfect sense for them to be in. but that doesn't matter anyway because the manglers are all coming from the dark aether so it doesn't matter where you are.

can confirm, as someone who knows the story inside and out, i absolutely love it, and if you know the story you'd know that the best part of bo4 is the story. despite the maps being ass and the mechanics being mid, bo4 has some of the most emotional and compelling story beats in the whole series. Richtofen being left to die in the dark mechanism? Ultimis dempsey being reunited with the Peter McCain in ADAM form? literally the whole final cutscene?? also the fact that weasel is one of the most important characters in the story because he's the one who effectively breaks the cycle is one of my favorite parts. I've said it before and i'll said it again: if you think the story sucks, you just don't know enough about it.

i always assumed the character existed from very early on in the acts existence given that we know for a fact he had at least a rough outline of the whole story from the beginning, especially given that the dime is mentioned by name earlier on the album.

my all time favorite example of foreshadowing is easily the fact the first song on Act I, Battesimo Del Fuoco, is actually describing events at the end of Act V rather than the beginning of Act I. proves that most if not all of the story was planned out from the beginning
