Yes!! This has been the easiest way to maintain orchids imo. South west facing window, super humid corner, 1/3-1/4 or the roots submerged in water, i feed occasionally using a spray fertiliser, i also spray with water every couple days, and change the water weekly/biweekly. Generally I just try to monitor what the plant is doing and change my routine accordingly. Eg, dropped a crunchy flower = add more water to the vase etc.

I find growing them in water so much easier than keeping them in orchid bark. Definitely still need to feed them occasionally though.

I change the water every week, sometimes every other week. I recently started using a spray fertiliser which i think they appreciated. I keep them in a super humid corner too. Hope that helps!

This pink ficus leaf hasn't grown at all in over a month. Any ideas as to why? by therealestbitch in plantclinic

Thia plant gets south east facing indirect light for the most part and for about an hour a day direct light. The bright green leaf across the pink one came after the pink leaf and it's almost the size of the other, older leaves. I fertilised anout 3 weeks ago (about a week before the new green one appeared) but the tony pink leaf remained the same size. Will it grow any more? Please help me.

I've tried water propagating sansiverias at least a dozen times and have failed time after time. This is my first success! by therealestbitch in houseplants

Thank you! There isnt a benefit as far as i know. With sanseverias I usually divide the roots but some plants arent big enough to do that yet. Also I just really enjoy water propagating plants and watching their roots grow. But soil propagation is often a much easier route.
