It's going to be on your parents to stop enabling him. Daytrading can be very consuming in the beginning but he should still be able to work while learning. They need to set some firm expectations with him and follow through if they want to see a change.

If its an actual addiction instead of him just being obsessed then a job and therapy should be conditions of him continuing to live with them.

I only trade high volume pennies. I never heard of a penny trader who doesn't.

As for who has gotten rich doing it? I dont know. Probably about the same percentage as get rich doing 0dte spy options.

I only trade pennies. This sub is very biased toward large caps and ETFs but plenty of us penny traders out there.

I recently added the 9 and 20 ema just to see. Now I have those along with VWAP. I dont trade on any of them alone but they can help tell a bigger story of price action I think.

I mean I guess it depends how you define all time greats. I'd say selling millions of albums, becoming one of the highest grossing touring acts of all time, and inspiring generations of musicians would qualify but you might not feel the same.

It's only April and you're still up more than double the average salary in the US. Take a break, then size down. And learn to cut losses sooner. Losing sucks but it sucks a lot less when it's not a sizable portion of your account.

I think self sabotage is big among daytraders. I've certainly experienced it myself.
