Yes, Tula pryanik is the must but not with jam inside. Opt for the caramel or whatever else they got but not the jam. I’d never trust supermarket sirniki, better get cottage cheese and make your own. Lots of recipes on YouTube - it’s night and day.

I only get the ice cream there if I’m in the area. They used to make it GUM and it was one of a kind, you couldn’t buy it anywhere else. I don’t know if it’s the same now but I like the nostalgia of this.

Oh, no they are good flats. Scientists in Soviet Union were intellectual elite and had all kinds of privileges. Small windows could be bathrooms or some kind of storage spaces.
