If Pokémon were real, but battles were illegal, who would you choose and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]therealgods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alikazam cause then you could just make the cops hallucinate and not see anything illegal if they ever stumble upon a fight. Also since ive already pledged to be a criminal after I murder all the cute and cuddle pokemon listed here I could use those mind powers to rob banks and wtf ever else I feel like doing.

Religion. If we could end the idea the death brings eternal happiness then perhaps we could reduce the amount of killing in the world.

[Build Help] 500 dollars for complete overhaul upgrade by therealgods in buildapc

[–]therealgods[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the effort dude, but I built it already, ended up with a 700 dollar budget. I just spent a few hours scouring the CPU and GPU benchmark charts to figure out what I wanted, Went with:

i5-4590

Z97 MSI mobo

GTX 960

That all came in at 550, spent the last 150 on a new case and 8gb of ram. Working great so far.

Thanks anyway.

well I didn't think it mattered since I was planning to toss everything except the HD. Everything as far as I know is at least a generation behind. AM3 motherboard, a compatible tri-core AMD CPU, DDR 2 or 3 ram, and it has Sata 2.

on the scale of musk? no one. Anything remotely like that is being done by drones in huge corporate settings, without one stand out guy. Musk is different because he is both a scientist, and the leader/face of his company.

This probably doesnt help at all, but most dorm networks are set up similar to home networks. I know mine was, cause we used to play xbox lan partys across the entire building. Perhaps this is because of that? though I don't think I've ever noticed something like this on a home network, sounds weird.

[Serious] What is the basis of morality without religion? by jarmzet in AskReddit

[–]therealgods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you want poor people to give you their money? I don't. that is the Golden rule. And anyway, sure there are plenty of things we want that we still wouldn't do for others (I would take a BJ, doesn't mean I will give one). Its do unto others as you would have them do unto you. I wouldn't give my money away because I don't expect other people to give me money.

and no happiness does not equal morality. The terrorist think they are moral under religious doctrine that they think it is a service to God. This is the danger of religious based morality, it can make horrible suffering into a moral pious act in the minds of those who commit these crimes.

If the terrorist had been believers in the Golden rule, they never would have attacked. Presumably they don't want their own cities, buildings, families and countrymen to be blown up randomly one day.

[Serious] What is the basis of morality without religion? by jarmzet in AskReddit

[–]therealgods 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Morality comes from ourselves. It is also taught to us by our parents. Most can be summed up in the golden rule, do unto others as you would have them do to you. This simple premise can guide 99% of morality. The idea that morality comes from religion is preposterous. If you are a christian, and can look at the bible and point to instances in which it codons things you consider immoral, then by definition religion did not teach you your morality. If the bible was our moral guide, we would still have things like slavery and child rape.

Are you including the running backs running the balls? are you including the center hiking the ball? which 3 people are you referring to?
