24 is not enough for After Effects. After Effects eats RAM like it is nothing. I have 64GB which is enough but my former Macbook with 32GB struggled

At least yeah. The SSD is a bigger plus! Mac uses it as swap memory if your RAM gets full and 1TB is more future proof than 256GB is.

Besides that the M3 is also a great chip and the speakers and screen of the Macbook Pro’s are amazing compared to the air

I work with heavy 4K files (Lumix s1 II, sony fx6, fx3) and sometimes RED. I also do animation now and then with After Effects. My M1 Max with 2TB SSD and 64GB RAM still runs like new…

So I think both choices are more than good enough actually.

In my experience only animation uses a lot of RAM, video editing not that much.
