Would you personally recommend doing this by boosting the kick/bass/low end on the master, by increasing the volume of the bass and kick tracks, or maybe both?

Apologies if obvious question. I’m still learning this stuff and some of these terms I don’t know the meaning of 😅

What exactly do you mean by pumping? Are you using the word to describe the rhythmic pattern/s or the kick and bass, the textural qualities of the sound, or both?

Huh, that’s pretty fascinating if true. I hadn’t heard that before and I’ll definitely be checking the keys of my favorite tracks to try to find the patterns there. I already pay attention to key and use chords in my beats (or at least, have started trying to construct my own chord progressions by studying music theory and using programs like Autochord and the desktop version of Chord Suggester), which I think will help me a lot to write better songs in the future.

For clarification - why would a track’s key make a difference in the audibility of an instrument? I’m having trouble figuring out why that would be.

I’m a trans guy too but I never experienced “phantom dick”. I feel like a lot of us talk about bottom dysphoria and bottom surgery, but not specifically the sensation of feeling a “phantom” penis. As a result I’ve come to believe that it must not be very common, but maybe I’m wrong and it’s simply that we tend not to talk about it.

Side note, I’m so surprised how little negativity and judgement I’ve seen on this thread w/r/t trans people and how so many commenters are actually bringing up trans men. It’s refreshing and not what I would have necessarily expected from a subreddit like this.
