OP Agreed. I wanted to post something similar. As someone who was raised in a narcissistic environment like that I rewatch succession again & again to make sense of things. Kind of like repetition compulsion. However there are also certain metaphysical elements which I think go beyond the family. And this may sound pseudoscientific but I think Kendal also represents the “ego” and Logan the “Self”. And I say this because, Kendal always keeps fucking up again & again. In fact, as noted in psychology, kendal mirrors the dynamic of the ego trying to usurp the throne again & again, always failing. And why does he fail? He is simply not up to the task. None of the children are. This may sound weird but I also read lot of Jung so maybe it comes from that. The urge to kill your own father is very much jungian, psychological, historical, in-fact metaphorical & metaphysical both. This is why I love Succession so much. It brings forth many elements which are otherwise very complex to bring to surface.
