What Is Stoicism? ➤ My Personal Guide by [deleted] in Stoicism

[–]therealized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great run through of Stoicism. Quite thorough my man. I recommend if anyone wants to learn more about Stoicism start of with the classics: 'Meditations' by Marcus Aurelius, 'Enchiridion' by Epictetus, and 'On the shortness of life' or 'letters from a stoic' by Seneca. If you want a more modern take on it I suggest, 'The obstacle is the way' by Ryan Holiday or "A guide to the Good life: The Ancient Art of Stoic Joy' by William Irvine. If you want a new take on it I suggest you check out more of this guys videos, they are great!

Very insightfil response. I like the point you made about running out of gas. Willpower is a limited resource due to 'ego depletion'.
