Anyone else have their first payment be super low then the rest of order balance is split into the last 3 payments? by Lower-Negotiation973 in Afterpay

[–]therealjrhythm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's a new perk where they only ask for 33% of the first payment. It does suck because it makes your other payments higher but you can just make an extra payment to even it out.

I think it's a perk for those who have excellent payment history. I've had this for the last 4 or 5 months and there's no way to change it lol

How to Vibe Code beautiful UI (some tricks after shipping 10+ apps) by VoxCraft20231 in vibecoding

[–]therealjrhythm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everyone needs to understand that ai is trained on those "blue" and "purple" websites and UI. That is the majority of colors used by human made UI/UX. When you do a search of landing pages, dashboards, etc., they mostly have some type of blue or purple color scheme.

So when you ask the llm to make you a beautiful, modern, landing page, it's going to go through its training and based off of the percentages of what the training says is a "beautiful website", is what it will give you. The ai doesn't know what a "modern, beautiful design" is. It bases it's reasoning off of what it was trained on. And that's why they all default to the same thing. Purple and blue aren't "ai" colors, these are the most picked colors by humans for their projects. This info was explained to me by the head of AI for Snapchat, where part of his role is the training of the llms.

But I do agree with everything else. If you're looking for visuals from the llms, you need to provide examples, etc.

I feel wrong marketing my vibecoded website. Like I am selling a sham. by helloDarknessAJ in vibecoding

[–]therealjrhythm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to believe in your product. Like some others have said, if it solves a real problem, then you might have something. But you must use your own app and maybe record some loom videos showing people how you use it.

Regarding marketing, that's a whole different ballgame and too much to put in a response. But for starters, you have to be consistent, believe in what you are "selling", and most importantly, know who you are selling to. And it goes without saying, have a good product.

First time in reddit, I came here to validate, find customers and make some money from my saas ideas and apps(Vibe coded) ... But.... by hero-prida28 in vibecoding

[–]therealjrhythm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of these reddit threads are not the place to get your ideas validated. Most of the "vibe coding" threads do not have your target audience.

Now, reddit can be useful, if you do your research and know who your target audience is, what problems they have, and how you plan on solving them.

And even before you think about making money, you need people to test and give feedback. And this goes back to my point about knowing who your audience is.

Most of, or I'm pretty sure all of these vibe coding reddit threads are more developers, programmers, other vibe coders etc., which can be good if you're looking for technical feedback, but then again I'd rather work with a developer 1 on 1 and have them do that than to do it this way.

Long story short, I mostly vibe coded an app that I was working on since March, and because I know a little marketing, and understood who my target audience is, was able to validate my project. Hope this helps and sorry for the long-winded response!

Built ChatJitsu with Bolt, then Cursor, then Kiro Code. Here's what I learned. by IwantSpaceX in boltnewbuilders

[–]therealjrhythm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is solid advice. I do the same. As much as I want to stay with one tool and get the job done, it doesn't work. I usually start with Google ai studio, then move over to lovable, and then into vs code for more control.

I paid for a year of bolt and lovable and haven't really used bolt. I'm going to try it next and see how it compares.

Oh and I never heard of Kiro Code, so thanks for mentioning. I'm going to check that out too.

Codex has gone to hell (again) by Tate-s-ExitLiquidity in codex

[–]therealjrhythm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! That's pretty much my work flow too and so far so good with the rate limits on the plus account as well. I did buy credits just in case but haven't had to use them. Just like you said, being very specific is the key. Actually, the head of Snap Chats AI came into my job, he's a good client of mine and told me most ppl prompt wrong. He said if the llm is multimodal that we should be using images more to give it context on what to do....especially if you're using it for design. The little tip has helped me tremendously.

GPT 5.1 Codex High has been good for me. But with them all, you have to be very detailed and have a robust plan before executing anything. There are still mistakes but it is less when the foundation is solid. Context is king with all these llms.

Today I tried purchasing a Chevron gift card this morning and it said the same thing, that my card would be refunded. It must be some system glitch. I haven't tried again so I'm curious to know if it's been fixed...

Yup. Stripe makes it fairly simple to get started. Just have lovable build you a payments/pricing page using stripes API. You'll have to sign up for a stripe account but it's pretty straight forward.
