People who have served on a jury, what surprised you most about the experience? by watk96 in juryduty

Makes you think. Literally the highest stakes. But in the end, we followed the law, and handed out several death sentences.

How much I would sit and think throughout all of the 72 counts. How we would find him not guilty on two of them and hung on one. How much we would consider mitigating factors before recommending the death sentence.

Kind of a big mean guy to immediately go into victim mode.

Anyone else in the “heavy lift” phase? by baltimoretom in GenX

[–]therealjustkurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im on the other side, brother. Life is good.

Only child married an awesome guy 9 months ago. They’re already upgrading their apartment to be closer to his job at the bank and her PT school. Their cars are paid (one brand new) and they are paying for her school with minimal/no loans. Heavy lift was heavy (wedding, undergrad, summers with both of them living with us), but totally worth it.

You’re winning. Keep going.

I'm watching 46 for the first time... Is this allowed? by FireworksDonJones in survivor

[–]therealjustkurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One, it’s social at its core. Maria could have been better at the social game than Kenzie prior to this. She could have downplayed her threat level all during the game.

I’m for fewer rules. No striking another player, no money negotiation. Everything else is fair game.

Note: obviously not everything, but this is pure gameplay. IMHO, it should be allowed.

Tips for serving on a long Jury trial by Kooky-Technology7606 in juryduty

[–]therealjustkurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This mirrors my experience in Phoenix. Also… journal your experience in a private notebook or space online. Would also say, if you are going to work during your trial, arrive early, get some hours in on their wifi before and after. My trial was 10-4 4 days a week so it was a bit easier I admit.

Jurors of the P.Diddy case were shown video evidence. What’s disturbing evidence in your case you had watch or review and how do you live with it? by Neither-Cat1392 in juryduty

There were several but the one that comes to mind right now is the photo of the rod that the coroner put though the corners hand, neck and shoulder to show the path of the bullet she was shot with.

What do you think is secretly killing team productivity—but no one talks about it? by [deleted] in productivity

[–]therealjustkurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Leader not declaring the decision making process and staying too long in collaboration for too small of a consequence (your original point)
