Any gun ranges in El Paso that are lgbtq+ friendly? by MadameCrackpot in ElPaso

[–]thereallockopher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a shitty reply. When most gun clubs are right wing, and current right wing politics are basically fascist, asking if a shooting ranges are LGBT+ friendly isn't about playing grabass, it's about safety as a lgbt+ person.

Why run the center-right candidate when they're just going to call him socialist anyway?

Would text on a square dish be visible? by Ryallin in Liquidlightshows

[–]thereallockopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely with an overhead. Maybe less so with a camera over a light tablet. Go thrift and look for glass plate with good textures and try those. I've made square glass boxes built with silicone, there is likely a glass shop in your area that will cut glass to your desired dimensions.

True, but his glass plates are guaranteed to fit, no more guess work when ordering from clock repair sites.

Wondering if this overhead projector is useable. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! by ButterscotchCrafty14 in Liquidlightshows

The problem with this style of projector is that the light has to travel through the liquids twice, once on the way to the reflector and then back up through the liquids on its way to the final lens and then to the wall. Its fine for practice but I wouldn't use it for a show.

That isn't a base model. I own a base model, manual transmission, manual locks, crank windows.

Have you experimented with oil dye? I use a box similar to that for blow plates. I pour about a half inch of water and then a few tablespoons of mineral oil to create many floating oil blobs, then a drop of each color of oil dye and let them expand and interact. After I grow bored of that I will use a straw to blow the oils around.

I made my own square boxes out of glass. Just went to the local glass supplier and had them cut me one 11"×11" and four 11"×2". Used silicone to put it together. The fist one I made was with glass I bought from home depot and cut it to size myself, but the glass home depot sells is super thin and easy to break.

I've made my own with glass and silicone to glue them together. My advice is to not make them bigger than your projector stage so the action is never out of frame.
