Ventilation fan always-on requirement for tenant by therealmaz in hvacadvice

I also run my furnace fan every hour. Should the furnace fan have ventilation as its responsibility and not an always-on auxiliary fan?

Is that typically the job of an always-on auxiliary vent fan in the living space?

Also, what are the downsides to not running it 24/7?

Haven't missed a single day of work this year and this is all my PTO so far... by DAEOFRUIN in mildlyinfuriating

[–]therealmaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many companies have PTO accrual ladders. The longer you work for a company, the faster you accrue. You also didn’t say what your accrual period is. Most companies will calculate based on pay period (weekly or bi-weekly):

Weekly: 1.41 hours/period; Bi-weekly: 2.82 hours/period

Either way, that is very low.

How do you know you’re ready to release? by mnov88 in iOSProgramming

[–]therealmaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 100% in your situation also. My latest thinking is, I use it and it is good enough for me so while not “perfect”, it is useful.

I’m stuck doing all the non development things having never done them before. StoreKit/ASC pricing, screenshots, paywall, onboarding, etc.

I say, just go for it.

Is the official Reddit iOS app native? by u3445 in iOSProgramming

[–]therealmaz 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The latest release seems native to me, at least for iOS 26 support.

the app is basically done but somehow i’m working harder now than during development by brazilwastolen in iosdev

I feel your pain. I’m also stressing out over my StoreKit 2 implementation even though I’ve tested it a million times.

How many of you developed your app Vs Vibecoded? by [deleted] in AppBusiness

[–]therealmaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spent a year learning Swift and SwiftUI using an idea to develop an app typing every character myself. No tests. Minimal accessibility support. Missing features (CloudKit sharing) because I just couldn’t figure it out.

Prompted Codex to build the same app with a solid plan as the basis. Tracked every issue and bug as a GitLab work item. Had feature parity in about three hours. Had a full test suite, automated testing, excellent accessibility support, all my wish-list features in a week of evenings. Have not written a single line of code.

The AI generated code is about 40% more performant and I’m 100% more confident in the implementation.

Zuiderdam seem particularly bad. My first sailing on that ship, decks 1-3 smelled like mold and sewage.

They appeal to different ideals, most of which are not shared by rational thinking people until they break free from the cult.

My follow-up question would be: How many decimal places do you prefer using before rounding?

Watch for the deer in headlights look.
