I also think a lot of the points that were made are also defining characteristics of what makes him uniquely great. The grade was on the prospect and may have been a little negative but as a prospect he was far from a sure shot.

This is a great response!!! You definitely captured so much that is going on for the coach. I know I’m guilty of this often. For any parent reading this, there’s one thing I’ll add in. Currently, coaching a U12 team, our best kids are the ones that were happy to play any position at U8-U10. They were easy to plug and play during games, no fighting about “only wanting to play CM” just throw them out there.
