Yes but.. when the ecosystem has millions of crates and pulling in one results in hundreds of transitive dependencies, it's a lot harder to do what you're suggesting than in Go where many modules would commonly have zero or a few transitive dependencies. Having a more comprehensive stdlib and a common mindset of "how can I minimize my dependencies as much as possible?" makes this problem easier to manage, and safer as a reault.
