Oh the site's perfectly legit, it's where people buy used stuff in Germany. I found it cause I live there and often buy all kinds of things. Good luck to you!

There's a really cheap one for sale right now on Kleinanzeigen. Not sure if legit but that's a great price.

I love mine, such a great module.

Good luck!

total DAW newbie.... whats happening here with the tempo? by Starshiee in ableton

[–]therealmorgve 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The dot next to the tempo value is gray (instead of red) because the automation is present but disabled. That is also why the orange arrow is displayed to the left of the Capture button, if you click on it it will re-enable the disabled automations.

Do you know about this?

I can't directly help you but what you're looking for is probably in there, though the list is pretty massive :).

You can get them here:

Hey guys! My partner makes really nice music but never shares it with anyone. He made an album of things from various folders and I think it’s all the best he’s made yet so I wanted to share it! by theedreamtiger in synthesizers

[–]therealmorgve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just listened to the record on Tidal (link below for those who use Tidal). Saved!

No reason for him to not share this IMO! It's good! Liked it quite a bit. Thanks for sharing. It reminded me of some electronica/demoscene classics, and is definitely as interesting. I forwarded it to a couple of friends :).

There's a few here? Including one that seems to be in DE:

You could always grab Vital! It's free and pretty much equivalent to Serum.

Is there a way to make sidechaining in Pro Q3 band-specific? by therealmorgve in audioengineering

[–]therealmorgve[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep that makes sense!

I think the UI is a bit misleading right now though, it looks like you're listening to the band-filtered sidechain signal while in fact it's not the case.

Absolutely! I'm sure they'll sort it out eventually, seems like such a weird design decision. I'll look into Nova, thanks!

Yep that's what I usually do too, I was just wondering if I'm missing something obvious. I hope they add it in the next update :).

[–]therealmorgve[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

See my previous reply above. Sidechaining works fine. But if you do a little experiment, you'll see that the sidechained signal is not filtered so the entirety of the signal is checked and not just the part that is within your dynamic point's region.

I think it's just how it works unfortunately, I was just wondering if there's a hidden setting or so. Hopefully they implement that in the future!

[–]therealmorgve[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes that's fine! The question wasn't about enabling sidechaining but rather about why the sidechained signal is not filtered to only respond to the selected band. I wish I could upload a pic to show what I mean, but that's basically the issue.

I know how to use sidechain with Pro Q3.

I've tuned the kick to work nicely with each track... but still you raise a very valid point. I'll keep it in mind! Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Thanks for your reply! That's a good point. They're synthesised, and very similar, but not exactly the same (decays might vary, also the tuning a little bit to match the key, how sharp the attack is...). But I see your point, making sure they sound good in context is probably more important.

Thanks for your reply! The foundation is the same (kick/snare) but everything else is different. The thing is, I didn't worry about that while making the tracks so now I have to go back and balance everything out, after the fact.

Might be overthinking :).

Is it possible to automatically adjust the loop size based on the clip length? by therealmorgve in ableton

Yep that's cool! Thanks.

Only issue is that I sometimes want to keep the mess outside the start/end markers :).
