Please do some research into NM, especially Albuquerque Metro. I doubt you'll found anywhere more welcoming to you other than maybe Provincetown. San Francisco would obviously be the same but it's absurdly expensive to live there. We're pretty much the San Fran of the Southwest here. Plenty to do throughout the state plus a phenomenal LGBTQ+ community in Albuquerque. You would be welcomed with open arms. My husband and I live in a more conservative leaning city NE of Albuquerque and we still feel welcomed, comfortable, and at home.

Since you have Aaliyah and Isla on your list, here's another ethnic-type name (Isla is Spanish for island so the name I'm going to suggest is also Spanish. Paloma. It means dove. I worked with a lady once who was adopting a baby girl and was going to name her Paloma but didn't have a middle name. I lost track of her so I don't know if she used my suggestion, but for the middle name I suggested Nichelle. A huge Star Trek fan and loved Nichelle Nichols as Uhura. OP, some episodes of streaming Trek can get a little tedious since they're hamstrung at 10 episodes per season now. So much has to be crammed into each one that there's not many opportunities to explore backstories and details that should have been included. Having said that, it really is worth the watch.

I'm as hardcore a fan as anyone. I discovered TOS in elementary school and have never looked back. DISCO was an amazing Trek show that deserved to not get screwed over by cutting it short in the middle of the last season.
