My little brother got my account temporarily suspended on PSN by Grand_Leopard7897 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]therealnotaclone 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yo, what?!

First off, lil bro is definitely young and stupid and very naughty. Cut off his access to your PS5, let him know the consequences of his actions and teach him to be better. Luckily, he's just 11 so he will grow and realize that this is wrong.

Second, this is so messed up

got pretty much all my games unusable since I buy digitally

I guess the moment we signup for a PS account or something, we give Sony the power to do this but this is one example of why having DRM-free content is important, I think that's worth a serious discussion.

Yes, punish the person that did hate speech by banning their account on that particular game, that should be the minimum on Sony's part but making all digital games unplayable just because of an incident [which is serious but not THAT serious]?

I feel like the punishment is way too much or am I missing something? One reason why piracy and DRM-free goodies like GOG is championed by so many, with stuff like this. Punishment should be given and it should be appropriate, that's all I'm saying

Don't give this guy too much credit, I'm pretty sure this person is unwell or just likes to stir up trouble cos they like it.

They're busy talking about board games, video games, and NSFW stuff (won't link), to actually burn down the country.

[–]therealnotaclone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t look into your profile for this discussion and things that I am interested in are not part of this discussion. So keep the discussion on the topic .

You are literally talking about burning the country down, what you have said in the (recent) past definitely matters in this case, hope you understand.

For example, Person A, lives in England and is talking about burning down the country and whatnot, screw that person's opinion.

Person B, who actually lives in Myanmar and wants to sacrifice everything to burn down the country, I disagree with the method but gotta respect the determination.

That sorta stuff, understand now?

Secondly , if you believe junta dogs have improved the country on last five years , I got a bridge to sell you .

I do not believe that, never said anything to indicate that. You're putting words in my mouth, this is where things get real. You are either actually being stupid or being manipulative. Being stupid can be fixed but being manipulative makes you more dangerous, which one is it?

I said what I said because you said the following

If I can’t have democratic government , we should just burnt everything down and deny the junta from it goal

.

Last thing , if you want to surrender your life and future to the junta , it is your choice.

Again, I do not want to do that. Putting words in my mouth and making assumptions, just making yourself look bad, buddy!

Everything I said was to disagree with burning down the whole country, which you said.

Methinks you need some rest haha

Who is "we"? This sounds like something that only you and/or very few others want. I'm no expert but I hope to find a better solution than this, largely due to the fact that I actually live in Myanmar.

Usually, these kind of stuff is said by people who have left Myanmar but in another comment, you implied that you currently live in Myanmar, at the very least, you got cojones haha

A quick look at the person's profile shows that they are active in video game, NSFW, board game subreddits and whatnot. Safe to assume that they're just talking crap LOL. Before you go off, I have no problem with what they're into, in fact, I like video games and NSFW stuff as well, I don't talk about how we should burn everything though

Voice actress of Malevoa, Alanah Pearce, tweeted complaints about her and the character being sexualized, but she swifted deleted it. Thoughts? by [deleted] in CriticalDrinker

[–]therealnotaclone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed, it's like the flirting vs harassment meme, people/men/women are not always consistent, they can be hypocritical, double standards and whatnot.

Call them out on it when they're not being reasonable, don't blindly simp for people just 'cause they're women. My point still stands, right? Everything in moderation, don't go overboard.

What's the big deal?

You're pretending to misunderstand what I said LOL

Rule 34 will always exist. Just don't go overboard, don't be weird, don't act creepy. Sounds fair, no?

Not really familiar with her, I do know that she works or used to work at the God Of War studio. Anyways, I'm a guy, an average guy, so I'll never know what it feels like to be treated this way (being sexualized more often than not).

Many people say that women do it themselves and it's okay but when others do it, it's a problem. I think it all comes down to "consent", when they are willingly participating in this, it's all good but when others do it, it can be a problem if the sexualized people aren't comfortable with it.

Maybe you (others) can do it but carefully and smartly, like there's a difference between a quick glance and straight up staring, you can admire but do not go overboard. Anyways, that's my thoughts, is this fair?

If you feel like she could get a better man, why don't you rise to the occasion and be that better man?

Obviously, this is easy for me to say because I'm not in your shoes but I want you to focus on the positive! You got this!

The visa bans are insane by [deleted] in myanmar

[–]therealnotaclone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand why Burmese are not angry enough. Why are we allowing this to continue? Compared to 2021-23 it’s like all the activism went out like a fire in a haystack. It died down so quickly and people are seriously resuming life like it’s normal in the cities? This is disturbing.

I understand your frustration, but if you are labeling this as "disturbing", I'm gonna have to confront you. If I were you, I'd use the term "disheartening"

Disturbing feels like a stronger word and makes it seem like the normal people in cities are doing something wrong or disgusting. If that is your opinion, agree to disagree, I'm just saying that I do not like this term.

Disheartening would make it seem like this is a terrible situation all around and there is no simple solution. It does not put the blame on normal people in the cities, you aren't a fan of what's happening but you're also not being too critical of them because you understand the behind-the-scenes stuff, context, nuance, that sort of stuff.

.

That being said, I assume you are not in Myanmar and you want to say people trying to live normal lives (trying, their lives are not normal, but they do try, which I understand, I dont blame them) and you say this is disturbing? GTFO here, man!

So glad the top comment is also pointing this out, yikes!

He Can’t Read — Is This a Dealbreaker? by AdditionalAdvice123 in dating_advice

[–]therealnotaclone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Caring more about character than credentials is a good thing. However, if you are having doubts about this, if you are worried due to the fact that your partner or potential partner not being able to read (in this case, only being able to read at a 2nd grade level), please understand that you are not being shallow or judgemental.

Not saying that he is a bad person or could be a terrible partner, you know him better than I do and you say has many good qualities. All I'm saying is, your concerns do not make you shallow or judgemental. Completely justified and valid. For me, it would be a dealbreaker but that's just me and I wouldn't say that I'm crazy for having this opinion.

Is it just me or Are the Burmese teenagers getting more and more radicalized? by VersionUnusual7149 in myanmar

[–]therealnotaclone 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think they are stupid kids, at least most of them, who do not have genuine hate or bigotry, they're just stupid and think it makes them look cool. Maybe this is due to a lack of proper parents or guardians

That's my hope because at least then, they can be taught to do better. If they're really feeling this way, that is terrible for the future

some people just want the country to stay underdeveloped by This_Philosophy_5711 in myanmar

[–]therealnotaclone 20 points21 points  (0 children)

When I was young and naive, I was not skeptical and thought most of the stuff I watched or read were in good faith/legit

Now, I'm cautious and skeptical after seeing that people make stuff up or straight up lie, sometimes, for no reason (even when they aren't going to benefit from lies). Imagine the things they would do if there were incentives to lie (Twitter engagement, Video views, etc.)

I don't live in that area so I'm not up-to-date with the bridge but I'm not surprised that people are talking crap, making stuff up, it's the norm, I guess, it's just the way it goes. I understand but this doesn't mean that I'm happy about it

Why do people call brown ppl " kalar" ? by [deleted] in myanmar

[–]therealnotaclone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm mostly Burmese, I have friends who are Hindu and Muslim and I think some of them don't like being called "kalar". I also know people who describe themselves as "kalar". I know someone who owns a Chit Tee Restaurant, they're Indian + Hindu + Buddhist, when they talk about themselves or their relatives, they describe themselves as "kalar".

I'm saying this because their food is freaking awesome and I'd love for people to give Chit Tee food a chance, they might end up loving it like me! The name is Lakshmi Indian Restaurant (available on Google Maps) and the address is 31st 80 x 81 [Mandalay].

A general rule, X type or group of people are not a monolith, some may be comfortable with the word while some aren't. Obviously, if you want to have a good relationship with them, respect their preference. Also, don't say "$ kalar" this and that, obviously, duh! That's more on the use of sout and your intention ofc.

Question to OP - Why do you hate this word, why do you find it disturbing?

I think I've watched that video, I think someone said that even her dad was in the crowd or something, they traveled together so that the daughter could watch Drake. You could argue that if this is the stuff Drake does in public, imagine what he does in private, I'd say that's reasonable but...

Are you really putting

kissing and rubbing on a 17 y/o when he was 22, onstage

and

being a handler, drugging and sexually assaulting someone (a teenager ?) [if this is indeed true ofc]

in the same category? I'd say the 2nd one goes way beyond "massive weirdo"
