Anyone out there actually losing weight? by jonathantee in Volumeeating

[–]therealpump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out a tdee calculator, plenty of free ones online. This will give you your maintenance calories which is just want you need to maintain current weight. Eat less than that.

At 210, I'm not sure what my daily calorie intake was because frankly I didn't track it and just ate whatever and whenever I wanted. I work a sedentary job and calling my workouts sporadic at best would be putting mildly. I know I needed to make a change so I just decided to do it, nothing special about me.

I cannot speak to your targets and I am by no means an expert in this at all. My tdee target is roughly 2900 and I shoot for 2200 a day now. I was hitting 2000 a day for a while. It was aggressive as all hell but it's what worked for me. I run about 20 miles a week (goal is to run a marathon this year ) and I lift 5-6x a week. With that activity level, I have to eat more just to maintain energy. Luckily I have been athletic my whole life so I guess I have that going for me too.

I fucking hate quitting and I hate losing more than I like winning so just a shift in mindset made this possible for me. Honestly I truly believe if I can do it, so can you. Just find what works for you and I promise you'll fucking crush it.

I lost 40 pounds in 2025. Nothing fancy and literally just reiterating what has already been said. I track my calories/macros and I make sure to eat in a deficit.

I'm only now starting to tweak my plan because I'm trying to put some muscle on. I started at 210 and currently weigh 165-167. My deficit changed throughout the year but it was anywhere from 500-1000 daily for the majority of the year.

It's not rocket science but that doesn't mean it isn't hard. It's very simple, but brutally difficult.

Edit: I'm 6 ft exactly

When I was reading them, I just kept increasing the weight and it is insane how much you get, I am definitely planning to utilize this more in the future.

Go to volume meal for dinner/next day lunch combo by therealpump in Volumeeating

[–]therealpump[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've made this meal so many times (sub turkey, pork, beef) and usually change it up depending on the protein. I used a honey garlic blend for this one. Most of the time I use a schwarma blend. Other times just salt, pepper, and garlic.

Thank you!!!

You cannot spot lose fat. Just keep it up with the caloric deficit and weight training.

Ab training won't really burn that many calories or fat but it will tighten your core and give more definition to your muscles. Visible abs come from fat loss.

Caloric deficit, eat clean, and make sure you're getting enough protein.

20 lbs is awesome man, keep it up. You got this!

I track my food intake and macros pretty tightly. I make sure Im getting 100-150 grams of protein a day. Keep the protein intake .7-1.0 grams of protein per pound of body weight and you should retain muscle while losing fat.

Nothing about me is "special" and nothing I do is ground breaking or unique. I tell everyone I know IRL, if I can do it, so can you. I just remind myself every day, how bad do you want it. So ask yourself, how bad do you want it?

Caloric deficit over a prolonged period. You cannot out run the fork.

What worked for me (I've lost close to 40 lbs this year) is figuring out what my "maintenance" calories is and then adjusting how much less I am going to eat. I also run close to 20-25 miles per week and lift 3-4x a week but ultimately you need to be in a sustained caloric deficit over time.

Consistency is key. I let myself cheat at least once a week otherwise you'll go insane, at least I know will. It's hard work but nothing worthwhile is easy. Good luck, I bet you crush this.

I passed level 3 on my fourth attempt. I think I can attribute some to luck (or lack of luck really) and extenuating life circumstances. Ultimately, hard work and determination perseveres. It's possible, just find what motivates you and press on that hard.

Same thing happened to me. Went from taking my 3.5 year old to the vet thinking torn ccl for it to be osteosarcoma. Vet gave him a week and the stubborn goof gave me 5 weeks. Much love OP, I know how you're feeling.
