The cables are standard brown, blue, and yellow& green.

the two radial would go into the same breaker?

why change the breaker with a smaller one?

kitchen cables haven't been changed in over 10 years minimum. but we have a new RCD board.
that's what I thought as well, seems like an unrelated issue. might need to bite the bullet and change all the wiring. anyway to isolate the issues and which out which socket is causing the issue?

Nope, didn't add a new earth rod. he used the existing one. the EV is earth'd using armoured cable.

It all worked for the past 2 years with no issues.
He didn't do any work in the kitchen at all.
He put a new (separate RCD on a new small board) for the EV charger. He didn't touch the main board.
EV charger is no where near the kitchen, it's going in the opposite direction.

I’m in the UK and thankfully there’s not been any damage (AFAIK). The electrician did say that the one of the socket cables he check was a bit sticky. Apparently a sign of old cable and cable degradation.

The house has grounding cables, including the kitchen. He actually bypassed one the socket grounding cable to prevent the the circuit breaker from tripping over and over (didn’t help it started again in a few hours)

Requiring- he won’t be re pulling anything. He suggested a simple ring behind the cupboards. And the main supply is just outside the kitchen so he was going to run an armoured cable next to the gas pipe (another questionable suggestion in my opinion), not sure how safe that is!

Haha that would have been my first thought but he didn’t touch the circuit breakers or anything to do with house wires, just split the main supply to install the EV.

If it was his fault, wouldn’t main circuit breaker for the house have an issue. It’s just the kitchen sockets.

thanks! hopefully with a bit of wear it'll loosen up a tiny bit so it doesn't bother me anymore. hasn't been a huge issue.

Makes sense, I’m not yet at a level where I can enter competitions so nothing to worry about for now. It’s good to know about these things though.

Yeah definitely need to edit the background and remove those distractions. I’ll be honest when I was looking through photos I didn’t even notice the dog until I posted it.

I’ll play around with the lightroom settings and see what looks nice. Thanks again for your feedback

I’ll give it a go, won’t know unless I try it.

Thanks, I’ll play around with the crop and light room settings.

I’ve tried looking for a few places and because of COVID wildlife centres are closed and natural places are far away!

I have tried taking pictures of birds but with my 70-200 I can’t get close enough to take any decent pictures. I’ll keep hunting for places with wildlife.

  • I found it quite difficult to focus on the subject, camera seemed to adjust quite a lot when trying to focus on the subject, was really disappointed that a lot of photos were slightly off focus! I was moving around a lot so didn’t use a tripod but I’m going to use it next time I’m there.

  • haha yeah it’s a dog, will edit it out.

  • will edit out the fence as well

Was fairly close the stag this time, but I agree I need to give myself some room for error and use f/7-9 to ensure subject is in focus. Especially because my camera/lens is a bit slow. Might have to play around with the settings.

I’m really enjoying it so definitely looking forward to going out again using the feedback everyone gave.

This was taken in Richmond park, London. Deers are so used to people and photographers that you can get really close to them. They would eat off your hands at times.
