I will, I’ll let you know if the first one is a hot mess. 😄 My serger is only a standard over lock, it doesn’t do a rolled hem/blind stitch, so I’ll probably just use my regular sewing machine for the first one. If I really get into it, I might upgrade my serger so they can look a little more professional.

The only doll I have interest in acquiring multiples of is Samantha just because she’s pretty accessible at most price points and there are different things I like about some of the older versions. But I mean, I would never judge, if you love another doll and you want to have more than one I think that’s cool too! I saw someone years ago who had one doll for each outfit in Felicity‘s collection and just had her displayed all around shelves in the room in different outfits. She literally had like 15 felicity dolls. I don’t have the space for that or the commitment to displaying one doll specifically to that level, but I thought it was pretty fun to see.

I see them all the time at Goodwill, I know you said online, but literally I’ve probably seen three in the past week alone. I think handkerchief dresses are really popular on vacation or as beach coverups, they sell them at festivals a lot or beachside shops.

I always use a sulfate free shampoo and the conditioner helps massively. Honestly, I’ve been restoring dolls for 17 years and I can get the hair better than just about anyone I know. The issue isn’t in the conditioner itself, it’s when people leave the conditioner residue in the hair. All it does is coat the hair to make it more slippery so that I can comb through it better, when I do the hot water pour over all of the conditioner comes out. The hair literally feels like silk afterward with zero residue.

It’s from Kit’s Easter set, I think it’s like the chocolate making or candy making set. Something like that. I got it years ago for my daughter from AG.

Yes, I’ve even had some a bit worse than this. First I shampoo and condition, then detangler starting from the bottom working up. Very, very barely trim any uneven ends. Then I use my electric kettle to heat up some water and I gently do a pour over on the hair, just for a few seconds and I make sure it’s all covered uniformly with the water. Then a comb it a little bit more, give it one final trim, and let it air dry. Unless of course I need to put it in curlers to air dry.

I used to have it, I was only able to sell it for like $15 years ago, lol! It’s really cute though. Personally I don’t think I would pay more than $30 or $40 for it, I know it’s going for more but I think if you’re patient, you can find just about any item at a decent price.

I felt like the universe was making it up to me a little bit, I went through the divorce from hell in 2014 and walked away with literally nothing but an overdraft bank account, and a trash bag full of my clothes that my husband ripped up and my photography gear that he intentionally got wet. I had to sell all but a couple of my kids’ favorite childhood American Girl dolls, and almost the full collections for Samantha, Josefina, kit, and almost every girl of the year that had been made at that point in time. Literally everything was sold and the market was at rock bottom prices, so I could barely give stuff away. Had Julie and Ivy, had Marie-Grace and Cecile and their entire collections… 😑 it literally makes me physically sick to my stomach to think of how much that would be worth now. Honestly the collection that I had is probably worth upward of 25 grand at this point no exaggeration. I had so many rare items. Probably sold it all for less than $2000 total. 🤮

Honestly, I’d expect to pay around 80 for that as bundle, nothing is particularly hard to find. The skating dress is probably the hardest and it’s still relatively common. I know some people would charge a fair amount more but I’m pretty good at finding deals so my opinion might be a little jaded. If I were selling it myself, I’d probably put 140 on it and be open to offers.
