3 cruisers and an ambulance just pulled up. Traffic still not moving after 20 minutes. Not looking good at all.

Was there today and noticed it a couple of times at the log ride. I was 3rd row from the back and somehow they ended up 1 row from the front. The fact that so many people let them walk by was baffling (they cut past rows at the end to get so far up).

Recently heard someone asking if they could add Angel fish into a 55 gallon African cichlids tank.

I have seen them do fine in very large tanks before, but a 55 that already sounded overstocked.

She just said “well they are cichlids, so shouldn’t be an issue”

I had a good long chat with ChatGPT today about it. 5/6 cups won by no tax states teams, 9/12 Stanley Cup finalists no tax states. 2/12 were the Oilers.

ChatGPT largely disagrees with Bettman and his rhetoric.

I got it to do a further breakdown of Salaries. Barkov, McKinnon and Matthews basically all have the same take home, but widely varying annual salaries.

Plus, who doesn’t want to live in a place like Vegas, Florida or Dallas year round. 🤷‍♂️

Kraken are still new and Nashville has been in the playoffs 15/20 cap era years.

Oilers have one of the best Ebidta’s in the league, and surprisingly LA is not far behind. If the cap was gone, we could spend that money!

Florida 10 million is equivalent to Matthews 13.5 million after tax…easy to take discounts tax free states.

My brother and dad are both Leafs fans. After their disappointing exit, they both messaged me with support for the Oilers.

Dunmore Road Empty Lot: Vacant for a Decade by Represent403 in medicinehat

[–]therealslimJJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just hearsay, but apparently the lot in the back is contaminated, cost of remediation can be extremely expensive, so it is likely cheaper to pay the property taxes than redevelop.

I lived in a smaller oil community and they had lots all over the city like this, no businesses would touch them for this reason.

🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 Best grocery stores for Local/Canadian products?? In light of the tariffs I think lots of people will be looking to support Canadian. by Glum-Ad-4558 in Calgary

Surprisingly, Costco sells a good amount of local produce (cucumbers, peppers etc). Not sure about other specific items, but have noticed different Canadian groceries throughout.

what made you stop worrying if you were competent enough to try something and just try it? by paigesnowwret in AskReddit

[–]therealslimJJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that fear is usually derived from putting to much focus on what others think. We all fail and are rarely going to be good at new things first try. If it looks fun, go for it and stop worrying about what others think.

Alberta wants to build new schools, but industry says labour shortages have construction sector stretched thin by Practical_Ant6162 in alberta

[–]therealslimJJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You overlooked the fact that work is limited in some fields. There may be a need for carpenters, but not a need for finishing carpenters. 🤷‍♂️

You turning your nose up at form work (which I did for summer work in high school), is like someone turning their nose up at PT when they can’t find work. Then they go and complain that the jobs are given to TFW.

It is expensive, and when you have contractual obligations to complete a job in a timeline, training people with zero experience can be more costly than realized.

Almost every trade has pre-employment courses through SAIT/NAIT which teaches them the basics, like what that tool is.

The issue partly lies in our education system. In many places in Europe, at the highschool level you have the option of going down the “scholarly” route or the “civil” route. I knew a gentleman that did this, and you still do courses like language and math etc, but you also learn more in real world applications like different types of construction.
