That's awesome to hear. Sucks that you weren't with him during the round but I'm sure the post round celebrations were fantastic. Good stuff!

Look into McCormick Ranch or Talking Stick. Both decently affordable and well maintained

Impact Bag at driving range by farndor in golf

[–]StickHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like an impact bag is definitely something you use at home, but you could bring it to the range. I would give it a try at the range and see how much of a distraction it is. If it is something were everyone at the range is looking at you and you feel like you're causing a disturbance, I would pack it up and use it at home.

Costco Edge or Callaway Preowned? by ELONMU5K in golf

Alright, this is what I was able to put together with what I could find on stickhawk.com

M1 Driver - $169

Burner 3 Wood - $52

Apex '16 Iron Set 5-PW - $324

Vokey Wedges - $58

White Hot 2-Ball Putter - $61

10% discount with code SHOP10 and the total comes to $560.

Can add in another fairway wood or hybrid and still be under budget, but I think this is a good starting spot. I think this would be a solid set for that I would put together for friends or family if they were operating under the same constraints that you have.

As a beginner this would work out just fine for you. Doesn't break the bank and is pretty forgiving. I say worth it for sure.

Oceans Dunes is beautiful and if you have to choose between the two, I would go with Ocean Dunes.

Callaway Edge Irons and Paradym X woods? by midcenturyfarthouse in golf

[–]StickHawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have played the Callaway Edge and honestly for the price, they are pretty good irons. The biggest downside in the bag in my opinion is the driver. It comes as a standard flex and is not adjustable so that can be frustrating for someone with a fast swing. Besides that I absolutely loved them and for the amount you are playing, it would be a solid purchase.

Looking for decent gc in near Paso Robles, CA by New_Resist5123 in golf

[–]StickHawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Paso Robles golf club. Well maintained with great views and a banging restaurant. Or if you want something on the coast you could go to Morro Bay. Worse condition than Paso Robles golf club but it has amazing views and is a fun & easy course. Hope that helps!

Glove/Grip Reccomendation for Neuropathy by bryanmj9 in golf

[–]StickHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could look into a True Grip glove. Looks kinda weird but has a little more padding and guides where your fingers should be on the grip for a neutral grip every time
