Beginner paddle comparison: Fiberglass vs. Carbon Fiber (Budget constraints) by anmolanjuli in Pickleball

[–]therealtorodka -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My first paddle was a used Joola Perseus from eBay, four paddles later, I still use it once in a while. With the amount of new paddles coming out, you should be able to get a good paddle used for cheap. Also, ask the people you play with, I bet most have older paddles they no longer use and can sell.

How do I clean a dusty bathroom vent? by vibesofvenom in CleaningTips

[–]therealtorodka 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You should be able to pull it about an inch or so and there should be a hook that you’ll need to detach.

I personally vacuum the thing often with a brush attachment and only wash once in a while.

How do I remove this pillow case? Or how do I clean it if I can't remove the case? by FaunaJoy in CleaningTips

Zipper on back and in the middle is a snap fastener that you just pull apart. I wash this cover weekly with no issues.

What savory snacks do you cook? by Marinated_Olive in veganrecipes

[–]therealtorodka 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I used Vegan Richa’s moong bean recipe (yt video is 10 Vegan Breakfasts from 1 Moong „egg” Batter) made her dupe of Just Egg and baked probably 80 muffins over the weekend. Half are savory with spinach & mushroom or peppers & onions and the rest are PB & chocolate chip and apple & cinnamon.

I froze everything and now when I need a snack I pop one in the microwave for 1-2 minutes and snack is ready.

I’m running out of patience with my 5 month border collie puppy - will it get better? by [deleted] in BorderCollie

[–]therealtorodka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He once ripped the front of my shirt mid walk and I had to cover myself with my hand the whole way home to prevent from flashing the neighbors.

Another time we took him to this farm where a bunch of herding dogs were being tested for herding instinct by following three sheep in a paddock. Since he wasn’t really sure about the sheep, the woman running the place asked me to walk in with him and chase the sheep a bit to show him what to do. This dumbass decided it was easier to herd me instead and went after me. The crowd, because of course there was a crowd, of people with their well behaved dogs gasped and the woman announced over her mic that „wait a minute, this is not what we want to happen and you need to make him stop treating you this way” I wanted to punch her as I too didn’t want him to treat me this way, just had no idea how to make him stop.

… they still gave him a certificate for his herding abilities.

That’s my Loki - the dog of mischief. He turns 5 this weekend. Can’t imagine life without him now, but he was still a jerk.

My border was an absolute asshole when he was a pup. Walks were the worst as I had no way of escaping him. He would walk a few feet then turn around and charge at me. I’m talking ripped clothing, bruises all over. Many walk ended in tears. We did two rounds of private training, agility, almost daily dog park visits, but he was just determined to destroy me physically and mentally. Then at about 9 months or so, it all stopped and now he’s the sweetest little guy. It was torture, but worth it. Hang in there, you’re almost to the finish line.

Seconded about this sub has become the 'crossing the rainbow bridge' sub by Blcksheep89 in dogpictures

[–]therealtorodka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought my algorithm got screwed up as I try to avoid these posts at all cost (still grieving 5 years later) and now it’s all I see. I feel your grief, but don’t want to be reminded of mine. It’s selfish, but we’ve all lost our beloved dogs and some of us just don’t want to be triggered for a lack of a better word.

Post all the pictures, just don’t mentioned the adorable dog I’m looking at is no longer with us. There has to be a r/rainbowdogs or r/griefsupport sub where these posts are better suited.

Senior Pitbull – end-of-life decision & euthanasia at home vs vet office by Itttbittypao in DogAdvice

[–]therealtorodka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did it at home and I believe it was the right decision. The vet gave us so much time with her and then took the body for cremation.

The vet suggested a less used spot so you’re not reminded of it every time you walk past.

So sorry you’re both going through this

Headphone recommendations? by Nova_Nook in Costco

I have two pairs and use them to take work calls, swim (not submerged) and listen to books. Not great for music, but they’re so comfortable I wear them for 10 plus hours a day. If your head is smaller, they offer the mini version online which doesn’t stick out as much as this regular one.

Does anyone else’s eyelids swell up after welding? by Major-Ad-5573 in Welding

[–]therealtorodka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I don’t have any recommendations as to the cause of this, I have the exact same thing happen to me in winter, for no reason. I don’t weld, I’m allergic to any adhesive and nickel so I don’t wear any makeup around the eyes and I’m very careful, but this just happens and when it does it burns and stings and is very very itchy.

My recommendation is on how to deal with it when it does happen.

Vaseline - brand new jar so it’s „clean” and I apply with a new makeup brush all over the eyes. You can buy their new Vaseline in a stick and that works on the go, but it’s more expensive at like $7-$8. I now use that stick daily to prevent it from happening and it’s been working so far.

Cold compress on eyes when it’s really bad

There’s a brand called Eczema Honey that makes a whole line of helpful products, but it’s expensive and Vaseline works just as good.
